December 22

It’s been a busy day so far around here. I had a Lowe’s trip to get spray paint on my way to pick up Piper and Lizzie and also a stop at Hobby Lobby for yarn for a baby gift. All of the yarn I have, but I don’t hardly any baby yarn. Piper and I had a date to bake cookies a have a sleep over tonight. We have baked and decorated the cookies. Taste-tested them too and they were delicious. Aren’t they great?

Here’s my Princess wearing a poncho I made her several years ago. She says she loves it.💜

We put on her new Disney press on nails she got in her Advent stocking for day. Now we’re watching Beauty and the Beast Christmas movie. It’s pretty good.

My advent today was candy and a sugar cookie chapstick. It smells wonderful! My two little snow people were purchased from Hobby Lobby last year.

I made two pair of mittens yesterday. I had just a little of the multicolored yarn. Perfect for the accent stripes.

Dennis has painted and put the door back on the medicine chest in our master bath on his lunch break today. After work he’s planning to put up the new lights in the main bathroom.
How are you all doing on Christmas preparations? I’m done with everything I plan to do except making dinner on Sunday. That’s when we’ll celebrate with Mandy, Brad and Piper.
I’ll see you tomorrow.

Blessings,
Betsy

  1. With the exception of making pies, which I'll do Christmas Eve, all my Christmas stuff is done. We aren't actually seeing anyone until Dec 27th, so it will be a nice quiet weekend at home for us. I've got a Turkey crown (Basically a turkey, but with the legs and wings cut off, so it's smaller) to roast on Christmas day... it's my first time making "real" turkey (ie, not just a boneless breast) so I hope it goes well.

    2. I made that poncho several years ago and I have no idea offhand where I found the pattern but I will look and see if I still have it.

  5. I think we are ready. The chuck roast for Christmas Eve and the ham for Christmas are in the refrigerator to thaw. I have the meals for the next 3 days planned out in my head.

Giroux has had a mani/pedi AND a bath. No more smelly cat and I'm only *slightly* injured. That boy has a wicked grip when he wants to. LOL A good shot of whiskey might be in order (for ME, not Giroux!)

Stephen will get here on Friday afternoon and then we just relax and enjoy the peace that comes this time of year.

Merry Christmas to you, Dennis and all your family.

  6. You sure hit the jackpot with your granddaughter. I keep thinking that even if Daughter had been expecting a girl I would have gotten a Girl Grand more like her than me. Daughter wasn't interested in anything I was. She was a total tomboy who was only interested in competing in sports and always looked a mess. Baking? Nope. Knitting? Nope. We had nothing in common at all. Still don't. We're like oil and water.

  7. I'm ready for the Christmas gathering! I think it's great Piper is still wearing the poncho--I think it would be nice to have one to keep my shoulders warm, too!

  9. You and Piper are quite a team! I love your adventures. We celebrated with all of our children, bonus children and grandchildren last Sunday so we are in the relax and eat leftovers stage. We are planning a quiet Christmas alone.
