November Challenge Day 30

I did it! Today is November 30th and I blogged every single day in November. I have only done this once before, so I’m pretty proud of this. I’m going to try to post a photo every day of what is in my advent calendar in December. There may not be much else because my life is fairly boring, but it’s ridiculous how excited I am about those little socks and I want to share it with all of you.

Today’s challenge question is, why do I blog?  That’s an easy one. It’s because of all of you. As I said in another post this month, I started out blogging to share the Japan trip with everyone who contributed to the gifts Alex and  I delivered. But during that time I made friends. And through the years I’ve made more friends. I guess some people would call us acquaintances, but I think of you as friends and I hope you feel the same way about me. So that’s why I blog. I love reading about your lives in your own blogs, and I love the conversation back-and-forth that the comment section provides for us.

I woke up this morning to 3 inches of beautiful snow. I haven’t watched the weather for a couple days so I was totally surprised to see it. I’m sorry about the screen in this first picture. I didn’t realize how much it would show up.

It always looks so pretty when it first falls, before it gets driven on. I don’t think it will last very long as it is supposed to be in the upper 30’s for the next day or two.

I’m still working on the socks that will be a Christmas gift. I’m using Knit Picks new Static yarn in the Terrarium colorway. The pattern I’m using is Cindy’s over at the “Delighted Hands” blog on my side bar. It has quickly become one of my favorite “go to” sock patterns. It is an easy four row repeat.

Hoping you all have a wonderful Tuesday. Can you believe it is December already?

Blessings,
Betsy

  1. Lovely Christmassy photos with this seasonal snowscape. Snow is great to see from behind a window as far as I am concerned. I am a sunlover!! I keep reminding Sr P I married him for the sun...LOL! It is a family joke :-) I adore that little socks advent calender...I hope you will tell us what treats you get from each one. What a great friend you have who filled each sock for you! I imagine Piper would be thrilled to share the surprise with you, when you contact on VC and check your advent sock on that day. As for blogging I agree with you definitely friends...acquaintance sounds like someone you say hello to in passing :-) I have thoroughly enjoyed your November posts ... each and every one! keep well Amanda x

  5. Congrats on finishing out the month! Your posts have been a joy to read. Your snow is lovely with your lights. How cozy. It's wet and still rather warm here. Looks like we are in for another muddy Christmas here in the Atlantic states. My son woke up to a lot of snow in Michigan. They are expecting their first child any day now so I know it's making them nervous. Me too for so many reasons....

  6. We woke up to snow, too. In fact, in the middle of the night, I had to look out our balcony door to see why it was so light and bright outside. Lo, and behold, there was snow everywhere! SO, so pretty. Ours should last a bit longer than yours because I don't think it will get up over freezing temperature today. Congratulations on 30 straight days of blogging!

  10. We were gifted with 6 inches of snow this morning in Northern Ohio. The forecast ranged from 3 inches to 12 inches (we are midway between Toledo and Cleveland and have to guesstimate our weather), so 6 isnt' bad. We are under a weather warning for more this evening, so we will see what tomorrow might bring. You get to peek in your first stocking today!! (I should say it was 50 degrees here and sunny on Sunday, LOL)

  11. The snow makes everything look amazing!! December begins with a surprise snowfall. Congrats on blogging every day in November. I know it's not easy
( although I suppose having the prompts every day gave you a subject. That's often the problem I have is what to blog about because my life is also very simple and uneventful.)

  12. Congrats on completing the challenge. As a 3 post a week blogger I don't think I would ever want to do it each day.. I think it would stress me out. The snow sure is pretty! My tree did not come yesterday or today so I called Home Depot and threw a hissy at a poor phone person. They have no idea where it is. Color me peeved. But at least I got my cards from the printer yesterday and I addressed one to your new address a bit ago. ::-D. Dayle just made us some ham fried rice for dinner, it was yummy. Tell Dennis hello for us! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  14. It's been chilly at night. I felt blessed by seeing Mt.Hood have a nice blanket of snow on it while going on overpass into town to get a few items at Bimart. I wish more readers would leave comments on my blog. Many people read it. I like sharing my photos and life stories including Jesus! Yep it's December. I need to get going on decor and cards. Take care
