It’s a sticker for the wall. It says, “Wash your hands and say your prayers because Jesus and germs are everywhere.” Isn’t that great? Very apt for today’s world isn’t it? There were also three pieces of candy. All of this in a little 3 x 4 inch sock! I love it! I will ask Dennis if it will stick to the wallpaper that is in the camper. I might have to put it away for the bathroom in our next house. If this is an idea of Jenny’s creativity of what’s in the socks, I’m going to be in for an adventure every day.
I finished the socks I was working on. My blog post previously told the kind of yarn and the pattern I used. They have already been washed and blocked and are wrapped up as a Christmas gift. They didn’t turn out to be matchy-matchy, but I think the recipient will like them that way.
We have a new member of our family. Our son Jamie got a kitten last night for an early Christmas gift. In his words, “She’s so stinkin cute!” I would have to agree. π
Her name is Oreo.
He says he isn’t getting any work done because she keeps laying down on his arms. He’s been working from home for months, so it is a good time to get a new pet. They also have two dogs, lots of inside birds, plus chickens, quail and ducks. She will have lots of company. Jamie has really missed our cat George, (that was technically his cat), since he died almost 10 years ago. I’m so happy he has another kitten.
If this is what she does with his laptop, I can imagine he’s not getting much work done. Ha!π€£ππ€£
This morning Connie from the “Far Side of Fifty” blog on my sidebar shared what happened to their town’s Christmas tree last week and asked her readers if our towns have a tree. This is Spokane’s tree in Riverfront Park in the downtown area. It’s a real tree, still growing in the ground. We have the same tree every year. One of the benefits of living where evergreen trees grow. π There are LOTS of tree farms around here too.
Wishing you all a wonderful first day of December.
Blessings,
Betsy
Ohhh Betsy, love your first sock surprise that’s a very very clever sticker, well done by your friend. An doh Oreo is soooo cute! What a really special tree too, something to look forward to each year!
ReplyDeleteYour beautiful card came today and it’s my first Christmas card too! How special eh? Thank you.

Oreo is a real doll!!!
ReplyDeleteYour socks are great. I didn't notice that they weren't matchy matchy until I read it. Some yarn just does that job for you.
Will be fun to have little surprises to look forward to each day. The socks are great. I love mismatched anything. Oreo is super cute and a very lucky kitty to have so many animal friends around. I love that your town decorates a tree without cutting it down and hauling it somewhere else. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute kitten! Oreo is a great name for her. Love your non-matchy socks Betsy. Happy December!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful socks. Oreo is adorable! I love tuxedo cats!
ReplyDeleteOh, Jamie's new kitten is so adorable! Sounds like he loves animals. That's wonderful. The Christmas tree there is really beautiful. Seems like our town does have a tree lit in front of the courthouse. I'll have to drive through town next trip in and look. and take a picture.
ReplyDeleteOreo is adorable and will be a good companion.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great surprise in your stocking, you are in for quite the adventure. Love the new addition to the family such a gorgeous kitty. Love the tree in your town Betsy, so very pretty. I will take a picture of ours next time we go into town. Take care dear friend.
ReplyDeleteThe surprise for day 1 is so lovely and the saying is very very apt.
ReplyDeleteOreo is indeed a cute kitty.
What a pretty kitten! We had one that looked like that his name was Midnight...he was a wonderful kitty. (I still miss him...as he loved me) He was long haired.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to see what was in your stocking!
Thanks for showing me your tree...it is beautiful! Yes years ago they should have planted a tree on Main Street to use every year! :)
Oh, now we all have kitty envy! lol She's a beauty! Our one-over town has a big tree-we used to but haven't for a few years now.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to see the contents of your first sock! I spent 2 hours on a Zoom knitting meeting with our church group today. I loved meeting Oreo and admiring your finished pair of socks as well! Thanks for posting dear Betsy. My heart says "Amen" to the prayer from Psalms.ππ€π
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable kitty cat! A great name, too. Your first treat is fun, I think you're going to enjoy a whole month of surprises. I enjoyed my advent box I got from Alicia Paulson last year. I kind of miss having one this year. I worked on my holiday newsletter ALL day.. I like adding one to my cards. Tomorrow I'll get back to card addressing. Tis the season! I have your new address. Have a wonderful week. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
