Snow!

We had our first measurable snow yesterday.  I don’t even remember it being in the forecast.  It was pretty but caught a lot of people by surprise.  I noticed the sky taking on that distinctive look that it gets just before the snow flies and caught these first flakes falling.

This was this morning on our way to Costco.  Not much in total,  About an inch or two.

I’ve been knitting like crazy on Dennis’s sweater but with size 6 needles it’s not growing very quickly, so I thought I would show you a photo of the top of my Hoosier cabinet instead.  It looks like winter outside but is still fall on the inside.

I hope you all have a lovely Saturday planned.  I bought a roast chicken at Costco for dinner tonight.  You can’t beat the price, $4.99 for a chicken that we’ll get four or five meals from.  Delicious too.  We’re going to snuggle in for the day.

The verses I chose for today remind me of God’s great and mighty power.

“He sends His command to the earth; His word runs swiftly. He spreads the snow like wool and scatters the frost like ashes.  He hurls down His hail like pebbles.  Who can withstand his icy blast? He sends His word and melts them; He stirs up His breezes and the waters flow.”  Psalm 147:15-18

Blessings,
Betsy

  1. Now I want chicken.. I adore the Costco ones, they are so tender, juicy and flavorful. Your day sounds lovely. We're having a cloudless sunny day here right now. Dayle and I are off for a few errands and lunch out. We might try a new Cajun place. I hope you show a new photo of how Dennis' sweater is coming along. Have a lovely weekend!! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  2. SNOW!!!! Oh, wow. Isn't it pretty. It's cold here. It could snow but it won't. It hardly ever does. I hate a cold winter with no snow and I bet we get another one this year.

  3. Oh brrr! Snow! My sis left Chelan yesterday and there was snow lower at Snoqualmie than when they went earlier in the week. Got home ok though. It's cool here and was sunny earlier. I need to cut back my lavender and take a few plants into the garage this weekend. Worked on Sunday school lesson for the boys we are teaching tomorrow and next two week. Bought a ham for thanksgiving yesterday after dental work....again! Stay warm my friend. 2 Corinthians 9:15 "Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift."

  4. Betsy whilst the snow looks beautiful, I am so glad we don't get a lot here and it is gone very quickly. Stay safe and warm.

  5. I was glad to see snow on Mt. Hood the other day and took a photo of it in celebration...glad that it is up there and not down here :) Glad you are able to be cosy! The house inspections are progressing and today I made an offer on a two bedroom one bath condo in a 55 and older complex. I qualify! :)
My prayers are for healing and blessing for you and yours, dear Betsy. xx

  10. I think we may get snow in the next couple of weeks. It's been very cold and rain is coming next week. This usually changes to snow. We can't wait!
