My Mom and Dad in 1944.
And on their wedding day April 1, 1944. I wore her dress when Dennis I got married.
I knit quite a bit yesterday on Dennis’s sweater, but my hands began to hurt, so just before bed I started a crocheted dishcloth. A new pattern for me but super simple.
Here’s where I am right now. Frannie is modeling both projects for me. :-)
Alex is in London for the weekend and knows how much his Dad loves Sherlock Holmes books. We have actually visited 221B Baker Street when we were in London last time. Here is a picture he sent us last night standing by a Sherlock Holmes statue. He sent a bunch of photos last night and made sure to tell me that “I visited your favorite museum Mom. The Victoria and Albert museum.” I love this boy. It looks like he is having great weather for his visit.
“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharply another.” Proverbs 27:17
I’m praying continually for everyone affected by the horrendous fires in California. My heart breaks for them. Please remember them as you go about your day today.
Blessings,
Betsy
It was fun to see your old photos! Your Alex is certainly a handsome man!
ReplyDeleteAmen. Thank you to all who serve and have served to keep us safe and free. Alex truly does live an amazing life. I love anything England, so this was a real treat, too. Frannie is such a sweetie, love the projects you are working on, too. Wishing you a day filled with many blessings sweet friend.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice sweater!
ReplyDeleteI love the V and A, also. I was there twice, but still get their newsletter.
Have a good day!
Great photos! I love that you wore your mother's wedding gown - precious memories.
ReplyDeleteI love that you wore your moms gown. I love those black and white WW II photos. My inlaws had them. They were in Norfolk Virginia Navy. What a great post. BLess you. Hope you are feeling well
ReplyDeleteLove your photos and so cool that you and your Mom both wore the same dress for your weddings. You are making progress on that sweater Betsy!!! My hands were hurting after knitting on Saturday...not sure if it was the cold or my arthritis or a combination. luckily, they were better yesterday.
ReplyDeleteWhat a handsome young man your son is and a real credit to you. What a joy for him to visit all your favourite haunts to get photos for you. My heart goes out to all those affected by the fires, what a tragedy.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post! I love those photos of your mom and day. They look like such a happy couple.
ReplyDeleteSo enjoyed the good news of your visits with your children, and as always I admire your prolific stitching! One of my small group church friends has an 85-year-old cousin who lived in Paradise. She has been unable to contact her...and I have been praying she will make contact and be comforted as she waits. xx
ReplyDeleteOh, what a sweet post! I loved seeing the photo of your Mom and Dad. I am so thankful to all of the amazing veterans in my life, too. God bless you, sweet friend. :)
