I thought I would share the progress on Dennis’s sweater with you today. I can only knit a little bit on it every day because this yarn makes my hands hurt. I have about 2 1/2 more inches before start the ribbing. This sweater looks tiny but my gauge is spot on! We shall see. Alex may be getting a sweater for Christmas. :-)
I think I have shown you this little sign before, but I still love it. It has faded over the last few years, but since I can’t find a replacement I still hang it outside, right under our address sign. Dennis found this for me while we were out shopping for the kids about five years ago. He said nothing could be more appropriate for me than this sign! I think he’s right.
I spent about 10 1/2 hours yesterday working on Christmas cards. It’s a process I enjoy, but I’m certainly not used to writing that much anymore. Computers have taken over our lives.
I hope you are all surviving the week after Thanksgiving well. I think I’m completely done with my Christmas shopping now and we didn’t even go to any black Friday sales! I love being done with almost everything by December 1, so I can actually enjoy the season. I hope you’re having a lovely Wednesday my friends.
“ Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1 Peter 1:3
Blessings,
Betsy
❤️ the sign! Yarn, food, or wine are perfect gifts - things that can be used ather than becoming dust collectors.
ReplyDeleteNo. Santa, please don't bring me more yarn-but if you do I will most certainly also need a bigger house!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, Dennis' sweater is looking wonderful! So professionally done. You're amazing. I still need to get a few more cards done and then I will concentrate on decorating. Then gifts. And some baking! I enjoy it all. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the sign, it made me smile. Good news about Chloe and the finished shopping. I too am now finished, its such a lovely feeling. We can now enjoy the season without pressure.
ReplyDeleteHaha more yarn indeed Betsy don’t think you’defer let more yarn go to waste, am sure Dennis jumper will be a perfect fit if it matches your counter (praying it does😉) and think the no sleeves yetmean it looks smaller.
ReplyDeleteLovely work, sending you some lovely Aussie sunshine!!
Hugs Shaz in Oz.xx
That sign is spot on! I love the sweater.
ReplyDeleteYou are lucky that you’re bet offers teeth pulling, though Chloe didn’t need it. We have to go to a specialist =$$$.

ReplyDeleteHUGS
Love the signs --especially the one about the yarn!!!! Cute....
ReplyDeleteGorgeous sweater....
I have always decorated a lot at Christmas --UNTIL this year... It's hard --but I'm having to cut back.... Just don't have the energy I used to have, due to A-Fib, meds, OLD AGE... ha
Glad Chloe got a good report this time.... I know you miss her when she is not tagging along--doing what you are doing !!!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
WE miss our little fur pals so much don't we? Glad no teeth needed to be pulled.
ReplyDelete1o hours on Christmas cards. Wow. Lovely lovely thing to do. We sometimes do a card between Christmas and New Years. I don't get too worked up about it. Between Facebook and Instagram and posts, most people see us during the year! Still, I would hate to see the joy of cards and handwritings go away!
Yay for all your progress, and your sign is absolutely appropriate for you :) I may send out Christmas cards as change of address cards...probably not till just before Christmas.
ReplyDeleteDennis sweater does look small but that looks like a stretchy design. I love the Santa bring yarn sign! Glad Chloe did not need any teeth pulled. Nancy
