December 18th

This will be heavily loaded with photos so I won’t write very much. However, I did want you to know that my headache was much better today. Thank you to all of you who were so nice about it.  It’s still there, but not nearly as bad as yesterday. Also, the Bluetooth headband worked very well again last night. I slept almost 9 hours! Based on these two nights, I would highly recommend it. I will get the box out and take a photo of it for you tomorrow so you’ll know exactly which one I bought. There are several to choose from on Amazon and I think they would all be pretty good.

And now for the photos. First up is the Christmas stocking for this morning. More yummy candy.

Nancy from the blog “Wyoming Breezes,” over on my sidebar sent me this pattern last night because she thought I might like to knit it up. I made it this morning, but it turned out a little small so I just did a double crochet border around the edges and now it’s perfect. I think it looks okay. Thank you Nancy! Now I have two Christmas dishcloths!

Three more pair of mittens for the children.

And another mitten done and it’s mate is on the needles.  I’m trying to use up all of my scrap balls of yarn out of storage before I buy any new yarn. I would love use some variegated yarn just for some variety, but I can’t justify buying anymore.

This was the view from my chair this morning while I read my Bible.  Although it looks bright out the back window, it was really very dark all day and we had some rain. You won’t hear me complaining though as it was 43°F. Almost all of our snow is gone. Hooray! The weatherman is saying our next chance of snow is Christmas evening.
I hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing Saturday planned. We have no plans for tomorrow except to relax and maybe get some things out of our storage unit. Dennis has misplaced a plastic funnel and he’s determined to find it. It could be anywhere in there! I think he could buy a new one with a lot less hassle than digging through who knows how many boxes. He says he doesn’t have anything better to do. ๐Ÿ˜

I’ll talk to you all tomorrow.  Stay safe.

Blessings and LOVE,
Betsy

  1. Praying for your headache to be completely gone. I get migraines frequently and have some terrible symptoms sometimes. Have a blessed weekend!

  2. Hopefully your headache will go away soon. I have made a relief roller ball with YL essential oils that help painful headaches subside. I don't have many headaches much after I started using the oils for some reason. M-grain is a good one is what I learned. There's always something to look for. I had to go through more bags lately to find something. I decided that what I picked up, paperwise, not needed, then it is gone. Have a good weekend, my friend! Gentle hugs!

  3. Hi Betsy, I love that verse, in fact it was memorising the end of 1 John 1:6 to 9 that led to my salvation at 12, I wanted to earn the book prize! Treasured books but received an ever greater treasure, an eternal home by salvation by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. A perfect gift to receive at 12 before entering teens!
God is amazing. My spiritual birthday is on the 4th January so very soon. Over five decades now. How blessed am I!
Now those mittens are soooo pretty even if not variegated as it the dishcloth, a lovely pattern, glad headache is better but sleep is good news too. Better get to prayer, as is late, will pray for you Dennis and family and Gods will for you, too in days ahead.
Thanks for sharing, dear Betsy, and God bless, Shaz in Oz.x

  4. I had to laugh at Dennis' comment.

Usually one of us cooks and the other does the dishes. Lately I've been doing both. Why? Because it gives me something to do. Who ever thought things would get to the point of WANTING to do housework. I'm going to go crazy today and mop floors! Yippee!!!

  6. That sounds like quite the task for Dennis, almost like trying to find a needle in a haystack. You have been in my prayers Betsy, sending you a hug too for some extra comfort. Take care.

  7. How nice of Nancy to share a pattern...it is a perfect dishcloth.
Please pray for Val and Rich, he is a Veteran and is in the hospital with Covid...she is so scared. Nothing anyone can do but pray. She was so careful...we are all so careful...but Covid can happen anyway:(

  9. It is wonderful to hear that you are feeling better and I pray your headache is completely gone very soon, dear Betsy. The dishcloth you made is beautiful! I so admire your stitching of the mittens as well. I am glad you got another good night's rest using the Bluetooth headband! I used a fan for white noise in the summer months. Thank you for walking in love and posting! ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ™

  10. Your view is so pretty - especially with Chloe all snuggle up on her bed. The stocking garland is fun and your mittens look lovely Betsy. We heard there is a chance of snow Christmas day here.

  11. So sorry your head has been hurting Betsy, not the best time of year for that to happen. I adore the toilet paper ornament from your last post. Having a huge toilet paper obsession I would love one so much! Oh my goodness it made me laugh out loud. you have been so busy. Stay safe my friend.

  13. Hi Betsy. Just wanted to drop by and wish you an early Merry Christmas while I’m browsing different blogs. I’m sorry about your headache. I believe that’s the kind I’ve had before, but mine were not as bad as yours. Anyway, I have empathy for you as they are a bit scary (at least to me cuz of the temporary visual changes). Wishing you well in your new location! Piper’s photos, from earlier this year, were adorable and I’m glad to hear that in the not too far away future, you plan on being closer to her. Stay safe.
    Blessings,
    Aimee

  14. I'm glad to hear that your new item is helping you sleep! My problem is waking up at like 4 or 5 and my mind goes into gear and I can't get back to sleep. I like the pattern for that cloth.. like a quilt square almost. Good job on more mittens. I like the yellow! The view from your chair is very cozy. Star warm and safe! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  15. It's wonderful to hear that you're sleeping better and that your headache is going away. A few years ago I had a headache that lasted 6 weeks. The doctor was so worried that she had me go for a scan of my head but nothing showed up. The headaches disappeared on their own and I never knew why they came nor why they went. But I sure was thankful.
