Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year my friends!! Did you all have a good New Year’s Eve? We talked to our kids on the phone and on FaceTime and then watched a movie. Dennis was in bed by 9:30, but I actually made it until midnight. I finished two more pair of mittens yesterday. I was about 1 yard short when I played yarn chicken, so I had to substitute a different shade for the thumb on one of these but I think it looks fine anyway. So I can almost get four pair of mittens out of one skein of varigated red heart yarn. That’s good to know.

Vera, your almond cake was delicious. Thank you again for the recipe. The cheese ball and crackers were pretty good too. We’re waiting for the snow to start that was supposed to begin at 6 AM. I just talked to Mandy who lives about 1/2 hour west of us and she said it just started snowing there, but it’s coming down very heavily. I was hoping they were wrong on the forecast and it would pass us by but it doesn’t sound like we’ll be that lucky.

We have a quiet New Year’s day ahead of us and I hope you will have the same. I’m praying for a wonderful 2022 for all of you.

Blessings and love,
Betsy

  1. It is warm and pouring here. Our annual Polar Bear Plunge was a bust. It was raining so hard we didn't even go down to watch this year.

  2. Happy New Year Betsy ⭐️ New Year’s Eve was a quiet one for us . I had my Booster the day before and I was feeling kind of achy so I went to bed early. I am fine today though so it was just a minor reaction. I so hope we have a better year than 2021. Take care. Amanda xx

  3. We had fireworks between 11 and midnight. Usually cars driving along main street honk their horns a bit at midnight but if they did I didn't hear it. It's a quiet day here too; but that's okay. I like quiet days.

  6. Ice and snow here with below zero temps. We never do anything, just hibernate, which is what we prefer. I like the black/grey/white mittens. Blessings!

  11. Happy 2022 to you, Betsy. It was cold Sat but ok to drive. Fri eve we watched Silent Night at Museum of the Bible done by King and Country. Young boy was the drummer boy, who's a son to one of the singers. It actually snowed when they were filming it. A blessed show to watch that Megan paid for. ...Becky
