Thank you

Thank you for your wonderful comments about Chloe‘s passing. It sure isn’t getting any easier as the days go by. She was a wonderful dog and will never be forgotten. We have had several friends bring flowers over and lots of phone calls. Anybody who ever met her thought she was the sweetest dog. Seriously. I couldn’t even begin to tell you the number of people that have told me in the past few days that she was the calmest, sweetest, most well-behaved and gentle dog they had ever met.  It is all true. I think Dennis is taking it even harder than I am.  I was fine when he was at work, but when he was home she was definitely his dog.

The flowers below are from Neal and Jenny. She sure loved Jenny too. A few more pair of mittens I made over the weekend.

Please excuse the mess in the next two pictures. I’m trying to get my summer dresses made before I leave. This is the bunny that I made yesterday to give to Lori.  It is a super simple crochet pattern. Oh, and that is the sewing machine I bought on Amazon a couple of weeks ago. It works very well for the low price I paid for it.

This is the reality of living in an RV. When you have a project going on, everything has to be shifted around. The ironing board is set up just to the right of this photo. You see a pile of material on the left that will eventually become dresses.  They are already all cut out and ready to sew. There are two dresses that are almost complete, along with a bag of yarn for mittens and the sewing machine case.

I don’t have much news. Dennis‘s mom is still in the hospital in Omaha. Once I get my second vaccine on the 29th and I wait the required days for side effects, I will be leaving and driving to Omaha. Dennis will stay here and come later. Mandy and Jessie have done an amazing job handling everything with the hospital and arranging a rehab facility for a few weeks for Mom, but it’s not fair to them to leave them in that situation any longer than necessary.  I don’t see myself coming back to Spokane until we come for a visit, hopefully next year.

I know this is short, but I really wanted to write to tell everyone thank you so much. You are all blessings to me. This week has definitely been a trial and full of stress, but we know that God is with us and is watching over us and every decision we make. Thanks for being there for us my friends.

Blessings and love,
Betsy

  2. I won't say it will get easier...in my opinion it doesn't....we still miss Chance desperately...and it has been a number of years. You adjust.

Good to hear that you are going to help you Mother in Law. April is just around the corner.

  3. I watch a silly show on Disney called Wanda Vision and in the heartbreaking season finale one of the characters said to Wanda that "grief is just love persevering". It really hit home with me and so many others as that quote lit up the internet when the episode aired.

  4. The flowers are beautiful. The speed with which you knit mittens amazes me! The bunny is adorable... it looks like it is sewn! I hope that your days begin to get brighter soon. You've had to deal with an awful lot lately.

  5. That is neat you're getting some dresses made.. I saw all the blue fabric and thought.. hmmm.. she loves purple.. why isn't there purple fabric? LOL! I am so sorry for your loss of Chloe. But I do know that she was one heck of a lucky dog to be loved by you both so much. I'm glad you made it through this winter without as much snow as in the past. Will you have to stay at a hotel by yourself on your drive to your new home? I am sure the family will be grateful to have you there to help out with your MIL. These are trying times for you and Dennis.. sending our best wishes for it all to work out. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  6. Betsy your Bible passage at the end today is so true and so perfect. I was diagnosed with bladder cancer 1 1/2 years ago and believe me, I trust in God for everything. He is the light in the darkness....whether we're trying to get well from some disease or trying to get on with life after the loss of a beloved friend or pet. I continue to pray for you and with you. God Bless.

  7. I'm so glad you posted about how your MIL is doing. She has been on my mind and I wondered how she was doing.
The little passage that you ended your post with is wonderful and just what so many of us need.

  8. Jesus wept. It is comforting for me to read those words in Scripture. He mourned the death of His dear friend Lazarus. Our Savior understands sorrow and loss. Scripture says that after Jesus wept he groaned in Himself, and thanked Father God for hearing Him then as He always did. Jesus said He spoke aloud as a witness to those around Him so they would believe the Father sent Him. Jesus mourned, but also moved forward in His life on earth to complete His next task, bringing new life to a friend. As I am typing to you I am fondly remembering meeting dear Chloe. I am so grateful for the privilege of spending time with you and Dennis and Chloe. Your witness encourages me to believe that the Father sent the Son, that they in fact are One with the Holy Spirit who draws all men to know God and enjoy Him forevermore. Thank you. I admire how you celebrate Chloe's life while you mourn; how you are moving forward with the tasks before you; how you are caring for yourselves and others; how you are creating mittens, dresses, and a bunny. Thanks for posting, dear Betsy. ((hugs))💜🙏

  10. That bunny is the cutest thing ever! Someone is going to be a very lucky recipient! Continued hugs on the loss of your Chloe. It has to be a very empty space in your heart right now. I am glad you have the dresses to keep you busy. And don't worry about the mess; that is my house on a good day! We have a small house and raised five children here. Now we have an addition, but added ten grandchildren and two of them are close to 2 - climbers. I keep saying we need a shelf that runs along the ceiling.

I am glad your mother in law is doing a little better. It is just wonderful how her family had come together. Things are falling in place for her, the new house, the pain of leaving Washington and the new adventure. Be careful driving all that way.

  13. Aw , Betsy , Gracie too, left a bible verse about God the Comforter. Hugs to you as you learn a new path without your dear dog. A golden retriever is on the television with Dolly Parton singing I will always love you. That's my Huck. I can barely watch it. Fireman says, Dont look!

  16. I tried preview my comment and for some reason it went away. So here I am again, a few days later. I like your new sewing machine. You and Dennis have had quite the time with moving, getting ready to go to Omaha and Chloe dying and mom not well. Continued prayers for you all. Hugs and hopefully you be safe when driving by yourself. Nice bunny you made!! Blessings and prayers for you, Dennis and family!
