Camping World met me at the lake yesterday and picked up our trailer. It’s back at their shop hopefully being “de-moused” as I write this. We still have no idea when we will get it back.
We have plans to go to dinner tomorrow night for our anniversary, which is Sunday. People have told us good things about the Texas Roadhouse, and we think we’re going to try it. They are actually building one only about a mile from our house, but the nearest one that is open is in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. That is about 30 minutes away, so we plan to go to dinner and then walk on the boardwalk around the lake for awhile.
We’re having a beautifully cool morning this morning. I’m sitting here listening to a light rain fall on the roof of the deck. I love that sound. It is supposed to be a short-lived little rain shower but I’m enjoying it.
Only a few things accomplished since my last post. One pair of mittens for the school children completed with another almost done.
Miss Piper requested a pair of mittens to match her winter coat. These took forever with all of the color changes and I don’t know how I ended up with more blue at the tip of one than the other. I must have been off on my row count somehow. I am considering redoing the top of one of them to match, although I know on a busy little girl, I don’t think anyone will ever notice.
I also crocheted her some hair elastics for her ponytail. They look like flowers when they’re put on the ponytail.
That’s it my friends. Nothing real exciting. Michaels is having a huge sale this weekend. Most of their yarn is on sale for buy one, get one 1/2 off and then I received a coupon today that’s good until Monday for 20% off your entire order, regular and sale items. I really don’t need more yarn but I’m wondering if I can resist that deal?!
I’m wishing you all a safe and happy Labor Day weekend. For those of you in the path of Dorian I am praying for you and all of your neighbors.
“I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91:2
Blessings,
Betsy
What sweet mittens! Thanks for the warning about Micheal's. I'll be sure to steer clear. I don't need anymore yarn. Ever.
ReplyDeleteI'm so relieved you have a good report from the MRI!!! Sorry that you still do not have a game plan to stop the headaches. Be well this weekend and savor the long weekend!
ReplyDeleteSo glad that your MRI report was good news! Now if they could only find the cause of those headaches. I have been trying very, very hard not to buy any yarn or fabric... I need to use at least some of what I have!!
ReplyDeleteSo good to hear your MRI didn't show anything. So why the headaches...how is your blood pressure...or is it a seasonal thing...an allergy? Your yarn projects are all lovely...cute mittens! Hope you get de moused in record time:)
ReplyDeleteI can't tell you Betsy how relieved I am your MRI results were good. I think I better avoid Michael's lol! I probably no., make that I know I have too much yarn. I bought some last week for potholders and dishcloths! Have a blessed anniversary!
ReplyDeleteSweet mittens and hair elastics! I'm so glad your MRI results were good and pray that the aches and spasms vanish! Have a Happy Anniversary celebration and I hope the trailer is ready for you to use soon!! xx
ReplyDeletePraise God Betsy, so glad for the good news re the MRI, ok the headaches and backache spasms continue but miracles no other of the numerous possibles or probables. My suspicion is both headaches and back Spasms are related to the cortisone somehow affecting the Botox injections, one after the other like that affected you very detrimentally.
ReplyDeleteWe’ll pray on for relief and grace in the interim.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for titrations comment on my Christian blog.
Satan loves to discourage and must confess I struggle with it over that beautiful blog. I mean why do I need folks to say they like something?? And yet it really does matter to me on a Christian thing than any old craft thing.
Love your knitting, I don’t think you should another Piper’s mittens.. if it really bugs you I think.. IMHO (no expert you went wrong in last dark row, and undo it back to that row and add another on it and then with back. I might be wrong as I’m simply a very very basics plain pearl stitch knitter, and not done it for years!
Really really love the yarn the children’s mittens are in.. cute elastics too, and yes that sounds like a great deal at Hobby Lobby πππ
Thanks for being a blessing, and may God bless you too.

An unremarkable MRI is a remarkable gift! Oh, the value of being told that it is unremarkable! Just like the gift of an ordinary day - there is no better day than an ordinary one. Sometimes "unremarkable" and "ordinary" are the best descriptions of all! I am SO thankful to hear this news, dear friend! I continue to pray for you, and now I join you in praise to know it is not something serious! Oh, praise the Lord!!! I wonder if your headaches could be coming from the back problem? I mean, I wonder if they are correlated somehow? I know spine problems can really cause all sorts of physical ailments. Whatever it is, we both know the Great Physician, personally, and we know what He can do! Prayers will continue for you, and I am so happy to know your camper is being de-moused!!
ReplyDeleteCoer'd Lene(SP?) Idaho is where Mary Jane's Farm is and she has a Mercantile Shop there also. She's an organic farmer and has her own magazine. I was one of her first "sister's" years ago but have since dropped off. I have her books though and lots of her earlier magazines. Have fun! We used to go to Texas Roadhouse with the peanuts and all the shells on the floor.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're MRI came out positive for a healthy brain! Enjoy your anniversary and the long weekend! Hugs~Sam
Hooray Betsy! A clean scan is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHappy Wedding Anniversary!!
You are a generous charity knitter!!
I am so glad that your tests turned out well. I know the stress of waiting for results can make it seem endless. I will continue prayers for your headaches and back spasms. May you feel God's warm embrace today.

Good news about your MRI results Betsy, I fear I have one in my future as those headaches have not left me yet. Hope you enjoy your long weekend even if you can't be at the lake.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness for unremarkable MRIs (that just sounds so funny though). Love those mittens and the little hair elastics are darling! Hope your trailer is back to you soon.
