Fall?

I know that it is not technically fall yet, but it seems to arrived here in eastern Washington. This is what I woke up to this morning at the lake.

This is looking at the lake itself.

We installed peel and stick vinyl tiles behind the stove. I love how it turned out, and now if there any splatters they will be very easily cleaned up.

And finally, a neighbor here at the lake made this cute little collar for Chloe. She seems to love it.

This will most likely be our last weekend here for the season. I woke up to 39°F this morning and had to turn the furnace on. It is gorgeous today though. I have gotten some knitting done, however, I left it all home when I came out here yesterday. It’s all mittens anyway. :-)

To answer a few questions I have been asked recently. The lake that we camp at is Loon Lake in Eastern Washington State. It’s about 30 miles north of Spokane and 80 miles south of the Canadian border . And it seems that the mouse problem was taken care of. At least we haven’t heard or seen anything in the week and a half since we received the trailer back. Yippee!!  I guess we will know for sure when we open it back up in the spring.

Wishing you all a wonderful day. I hope that we never forget what happened 18 years ago today. I pray history never repeats itself.

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”  Psalm 56:3

Blessings,
Betsy

  3. 39!!! Yikes...but I would trade it for our 90 in a heartbeat. It's been miserably hot here all week again.

  4. Yes, Fall has come here too.. but then this afternoon it was warm and sunny and I had all the windows down and the sunroof open on my way home from the pool - to dry my hair. I did not know there were stick on tiles like the ones you put behind the stove.. it looks like high end glass tiles.. it is very pretty. I'm sorry you have to close it up for the winter.. but you will have that big beautiful place all next summer. When do you leave to visit Piper? Very exciting for you and Dennis. How long will you be there? Enjoy your week.. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  5. It looks beautiful there and sounds wonderful. I am looking forward to our first feel of fall. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 90's and humid again. Miserable weather. What a sweet dog you have. I like the little collar.

  6. I agree, it feels like fall on this side of the mts. also. Do you see many loons on your lake? I didn't know we had them here. We put our flag out today as my DH lost a childhood friend on 9/11, and like you I hope nothing like that ever happens here again!

  8. Well dear Betsy I’m going to comment anonymously, seeing as even though I’m signed in it won’t recognise it, hopefully won’t lose it! πŸ™πŸ»πŸ˜†πŸ˜‰
Sorry that autumn or fall is already there as you love your time at lake, you’ll just have to save up memories for next year, glad mice are gone and pray it stays that way. I’m praying for your back spasms too dear sis, for Lords mercies there.
I puzzled over vinyl tiles behind stove, won’t they melt, or maybe heatproof vinyl? Hope so, thanks for sharing your Snippets of your life... good job on mittens whether shared or not.
Thanks for being a blessing, and may God bless you too.

  9. When I got back from CA on Sunday afternoon I noticed a big difference in the weather here in Portland, too...not as cold as you were at the lake though! I’m glad you are getting some stitching done and admired the mittens in your last post. At our baby blanket making group yesterday we prayed for those affected by 9/11... xx

  11. I am so glad you had a chance to use your lovely trailer again before the season ends. It's so very pretty, and you both have made it look amazing. I will dream about your 39 degrees outside as we bathe in the glorious heat of 97 degrees. (yes, glorious was the only word I could think of that could be written "out loud"). :) Wishing you a most lovely day filled with many blessings my dear sweet friend. ((hugs))

  12. It is such an important thing to Honor those who lost their lives and their innocence and Joy that day. If you can pull up NPR tiny desk series they are showing some of the Play COMEFROM AWAY! So good

  13. Oh, your photos are gorgeous! And hooray! It's felt like Autumn here for nearly 2 weeks. I'll take it, as well as our this-was-easy summer. And ooooo! Peel and stick backsplash tiles. I'm not sure I'd heard of those (and I watch all those HGTV shows!), but they sound (and look) wonderful. I've been considering adding just a small section of tiles behind our bathroom sink, maybe 2 1/2 feet by 2 feet (or so) and your tiles sound pretty easy for a project like that! Thanks for sharing and oh, as always, your stories about your camping trailer make it sound all the more cozy, especially this cooling time of year. Love hearing about your adventures! Blessings, Debra

  14. That's a very chilly morning temp! The lake is beautiful! What a nice season you have enjoyed--the new camper trailer is going to be a good home away from home!

  15. It's finally cooling down a little but it's still warm enough to run our fans but cool enough to not have to run the AC. Chloe looks so cute with her collar!

  16. Love your new tile! Been thinking of doing the same thing in our RV now that we stripped the vinyl "wallpaper" and painted the walls in our kitchen. Would you mind sharing what brand you chose as the colors/type you chose would be perfect.
Have a good rest of your week 😊
    Blessings,
    Aimee

  17. 39 degrees. Wow! It's 8 a.m. and 92 here and I'm thinking that's pretty cool. Ha! Anything below 100 is good when summer temps here get so dang hot. I love peel and stick tiles. Have used some blue and white designs in one of the bathrooms here to jazz things up. The fog photos are really lovely. Sorry to hear your lake days are coming to an end. But I know you have plenty of projects to keep you occupied in the coming months. Take care!

  18. Do you mind telling me where you got that vinyl tile? I'm looking for something just like that for a kitchen back splash.

  19. Oh, I love the backsplash! SO pretty and yes, it will surely be easy to clean, which is the most important part. Chloe looks so pretty in her new collar! I am so thankful you got your camper back in plenty of time to use this season. It sounds like you have enjoyed it to the full! God bless you, sweet friend!

  20. A friend who lives in the WyoBraska part of Nebraska (as he puts it haha) has been posting on Instagram the autumn tree colors changing up there. I say nooooooooooo! it's way too soon for me! I haven't even gotten to enjoy all of my summer yet because it was delayed by the flooding rains in May and June. Ah well. We're still in the upper 80s/lower 90s here anyway (70s at night)... the humidity has been nuts and makes the arthritis worse. Bleah. // We pray that the tragedies of that day never happen again. Ever. // Chloe looks lovely in her cute new collar, it's definitely her! ♥
