It’s done!

We signed on our house yesterday. It’s done! Well, almost. Apparently it won’t fund until tomorrow or Friday, which means we don’t get our money until then. That’s okay, it’s just going to go into an account until we get ready to buy some thing else someday.

Goodbye sweet home. We’ve made some wonderful memories here and admittedly, when I dropped off the keys yesterday and walked through the empty rooms, I cried many tears.

I’m going to miss my flowers and my rhubarb patch.  Dennis will miss his shed which Piper named “Papa‘s House.”

We move from the lake next Monday. There’s not very much we can do until that day, so it feels like it’s been a hurry up and stop kind of week.

I did finish the prayer shawl that I’ve been making.
It is 5 feet long and 2 feet wide. The top photo is more true to color.

I delivered it to the church this morning and it will be given to my friend Sunday morning. We are still not going to “in person” services because of my health conditions, but a few people are starting to attend on Sunday mornings.

My sweet friend Lorraine sent me these sweet bags and hearts. When she showed the fabric on her blog, I fell in love with it. Aren’t they just wonderful?  Lorraine and her husband Gerard live on an island in the middle of the ocean between Scotland and the UK. She has a blog, “Mama’s Mercantile” which you can find on my side bar.

I also received this beautiful card from my dear friend Shaz who lives in Australia. She makes all of her cards herself despite her many physical ailments. Isn’t it lovely? And my favorite color. The Lord IS my fortress. Shaz also has a blog, “Calligraphy Cards, Shaz in Oz” that you can also find on my side bar.

Dennis‘s sister is not doing very well and hospice has been contacted. He is planning to drive back to Nebraska next weekend after we get settled at the new park. My doctors still say I can’t go. I would appreciate your prayers for Karen and the entire family and for Dennis as he drives such a long distance by himself. He is planning to sleep in the truck so he doesn’t have to go into any hotels. He also wants me to pack him sandwiches so he doesn’t have to stop and eat anywhere. It makes me very, very nervous, but I know and I understand why he needs to do this. It breaks my heart that I can’t go with him.

I’m trying very hard to keep up with all of your blogs. I’m hoping my Internet service will be better at the new RV park when we get settled. Sometimes it’s hit or miss here at the lake. Wishing you all a wonderful Wednesday.

Stay well and healthy.

Blessings, Betsy

Keep your focus on the new adventures you and Dennis will have! // We'll be praying about Dennis' sister and his trip to Nebraska for safe and UNeventful travel. 2. Almost there, Betsy. What an eventful life you've had over the last month. I hope you can relax once you're moved to the new park. Maybe you'll make some new and wonderful new friends there. I love the blanket you made, I am sure it will bring solace and comfort to your friend. I enjoyed seeing the gifts your blog friends have sent you. You're so giving yourself I'm glad to see things coming your way. You might want to try making a lantern like I'm working on for your trailer. Tell Dennis we're sending him good wishes for his long trip. You'll have to make him some homemade cookies for the road and lots of healthy snacks to keep him going. Sending love your way.. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  3. I was going to ask you if you cried. I would have for sure. I bawled like a baby the whole way here when we moved. The moving people must have thought I was nuts. I get so attached. I still have my broken down Mini in the driveway three years after she couldn't be repaired just because I can't bear to part with her.
Here's to your new life adventure!! I have to say I am a bit envious. There is nothing like being stuck in the house for 6 months to make you want to move.

  5. I know how difficult it is to walk through the rooms void of furnishings but packed with memories for the last time. Those memories are locked in your heart. Your new path has been planned for you, so just trust the Lord on the journey.

  11. Oops, I was looking at your last post and this one too, and I mentioned your beautiful gifts in my comment on the last one. It's easy to understanding why you shed tears over selling your home. It is a beautiful place, and the yard, and Papa's shed too. :) Lots of times we talk about how nice it would be to own a travel trailer, sell this place, and live like you and Dennis are now. Sorry to hear about Dennis's sister. Hope he has a safe trip. The prayer shawl is beautiful.

  12. Betsy your family will be in my prayers. I will be praying safe travels for Dennis.
The prayer shawl is beautiful. I'm working on one for my friend who lost her husband. I cried when we left our home to but I know God will allow you and Dennis to build sweet memories in wherever He plants you.

  15. Betsy, I am happy that you have your house sold. Made my eyes tear up looking at your house that I enjoyed staying in a few nights while visiting you and Dennis a couple years ago? I am sure the new owners will like it. Nice gift from Lorraine. She's a sweet blogger friend. Sorry to read that Karen is not well. Praying Dennis has a good drive. Have a good slow few days before moving to RV park. The lake is so pretty!!! Take care my friend! I am good today, did physical therapy and am now getting some groceries. It's going to in the high 90s Sat-Mon. So am staying indoors most days. Take care and know that God will take care of you and Dennis as you are apart for awhile. Why aren't u allowed to go to NE with him? Hugs and blessings and prayers!!! x------x :-} Becky

  16. Congratulations on the sale of your house. Sad but exciting too! I'm not sure why you'd want to leave that lake though. :) Please know your family is in my thoughts and prayers. Dealing with Hospice is such an emotional thing but my experience has always been that they are true angels.

  18. Your old house certainly was lovely and I can understand why you were sad to leave. You are on a new adventure and hopefully things will fall into place. Meanwhile I hope Dennis has a safe trip. Don't know if you mentioned how long he will be gone. Take care, GM

  19. Hi There! It is supposed to get into the nineties here tomorrow, and that's pretty hot for this side of the mts. I can't imagine how difficult leaving a house you've lived in a long time; we've been here since 1977 and and have lots of downsizing to do before we could even think of moving. You said on someone's blog that you are making a Pimpeliesse shawl, and I can't find it on Ravelry. Where did you get the pattern? It looks like a good way to decrease the stash! So sorry to hear about your SIL; know that you and Dennis are in my thoughts. Sending hugs, too.

  20. What a lovely house Betsy...so many memories. That is indeed hard!! At least it is going to a good family who will enjoy it as much as you have. Wonderful prayer shawl which I am sure will be greatly appreciated by its wearer. Beautiful gifts from Lorraine at Mama's Mercantile, so thoughtful of her. I hope your husband has a safe trip and is back with you soon. Keep well Amanda x

  21. Lorraine is just as lovely as she can be, so is your friend Shaz. Such wonderful news about your house but then there is all the worry about your SIL. You are all in my thoughts as you travel this tough road. Stay safe Betsy.

  22. I will be praying for Dennis and his family. Such a sad journey for him.

Congratulations on selling your house. You have filled it with love and happy memories. May some of that spill over onto the new occupants.

What lovely gifts from your blog friends, and such encouraging verses on the card and at the end of your post. Thank you for the reminder that God is our help and strength, and worthy of all honor and glory.
