Thank you for those that have contacted me find out if we’re safe. Tornado warnings are still going on just east of us. Dennis was at the doctors and they put him in lockdown and I came to Mandy‘s house because they have a basement.
This picture is about 5 blocks from our apartment that we lived in last year. Lots of places damaged and destroyed.
This is the tornado that went close, very close to Mandy and Brad’s where we were hunkering down.
I took the next two photos off of the news just a few minutes ago. They are still swirling about 50-100 miles east of us in Iowa.
Some early damages here in Omaha. They are just starting to get out and get a few photos but many roads are impassible.
No news yet on any fatalities, but there are many, many injuries according to the newsman. Is it any wonder I was so excited about moving to Washington 30 years ago? More are predicted for tomorrow. Yippee.
Please pray for everyone that has been hurt or affected in anyway. I tell you that driving to Mandy’s with the sirens wailing was nerve wracking.
Thanks again for thinking of us here in the Midwest.
Blessings,
Betsy
“For He will order his angels to protect you wherever you go.” Psalm 91:11
So thankful that you are safe. We will continue to pray for the safety of your family and friends and all those around you. May God continue to give His angels charge over you throughout the night and into the next day for as long as needed. Praying!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my Gosh....I'm so thankful that you are all right. I'm so sorry to hear about this tornado that almost got you. How sad for all the people affected by the terrible destruction. I am praying for all of them.
ReplyDeleteThankful you and Dennis are ok. I heard about the tornado earlier, we have a cousin who is there for the marathon this weekend. Scary.
ReplyDeleteTornadoes are SO scary. I'm glad you stayed safe and hopefully will continue to be safe if another one comes. The poor people whose homes are destroyed....I can't imagine how they must feel.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you are safe!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you were able to go to Mandy's--it's no fun to be alone in that situation! Praying for your continued safety!!!!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of you all night. I was up watching live tik tok videos coming out of the area. So many people spent the night filming in terror in their dark basements. I can't imagine how terrible that was. Watching those monsters literally eat up whole communities was unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I am so glad you guys are safe.
ReplyDeleteOh Betsy, as I heard about the tornadoes, I began to pray for you and your loved ones safety! So thankful to hear you are safe. When we left TX, one of the reasons we rejoiced was because we didn't have to fear tornadoes anymore. My prayers today are for all of you and your loved ones and friends in your area, to be safe as you pick up the pieces from this storm. Hugs and prayers for all of you!
ReplyDeleteSo grateful you're okay. A niece lives just a couple of blocks from where it hit some homes in Bennington. It's definitely the time of year when we need to be weather aware.
ReplyDeleteI was praying for you guys right at the time the tornadoes were going through your area. Very thankful you are all safe! We are currently under a tornado watch until late this evening (Saturday 4/27). Lots of severe weather all around us. It's that time of year, huh. Prayers and blessings for you guys! Hugs and love!

I was thinking about you as Megan mentioned there were tornadoes 🌪 in Nebraska as we were in Salem. I'm glad you're ok. Praying for people who need help and recovery 🙏 ❤️. It's been cool with rain and a bit of breeze. I went to Wild Knits store this morning and got a kit with a pattern for an ombre slouch hat. Lots of nice yarns. Have a good weekend ~~Becky
ReplyDeleteOh my, that was a very close call for you, so glad it missed you. Yet, I'm so sorry for those that were in it's path. Prayers for all.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are okay. It broke my heart to see all the damage and hear about the tornados on the news tonight. Where will all the people go, who have lost their homes. It's so sad. Hope things settle down and you and your family stay safe. Love you.

Pass quickly and leave without damage!
Hello. I coming over from Pamela's blog. I am so sorry to see all of this damage. We used to live in Omaha. My husband worked at the Air Force base and we lived near Papillion. I was in a tornado once when we lived there, but it was not this bad. Prayers for all affected. I will be back to visit your blog again.
ReplyDeleteOh Betsy Girl, I'm so glad you're safe. I'm so sorry about all the damages. I haven't heard if anyone died. I do hope not.

So scary. I mostly heard about Nebraska on the news here. And was surprised to see news footage of people standing in the street with their mobiles getting videos with seemingly no fear. Yikes! Glad you are all okay. Take care.
ReplyDeleteBeen thinking about you and wondering how you are doing. I can imagine the aftermath of such a horrible event has been very difficult for everyone, whether or not you were directly affected. Praying you and you family are well, and that God is taking care of your every need. Sending you hugs and more prayers.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!!! I'm glad you are all safe! Mother Nature is quite impressive (and terrifying) in her majesty!
ReplyDeleteWe had that downburst last year (Tornado force wind, but it doesn't rotate - just goes straight down and then out when it hits the ground.). They measure them on the same scale as tornados, and it was a 0. The lowest... and yet it did such damage - it's incredible that they get much worse. And clearly - by the damage in your pictures.
Sending lots of good thoughts for a safe Tornado season for you and your family!
