So nice!

We have had the most beautiful weather for the past week. When we got home last Monday, I opened the windows up and I haven’t closed them since. It is supposed to be in the mid to upper 80s for the next several days, but I’m going to try very hard not to turn the air conditioner back on. I am so enjoying the fresh air in the house. My cold is hanging on and I still sound like I’m trying to cough up a lung up as gross as that sounds. I didn’t go to church yesterday because I don’t want anyone to think that I’m trying to make them sick. Mandy has been sick since a couple of days after we got home too. She’s running a fever and has lost her voice along with the other symptoms. It seems like we all brought some crud home. Flying is definitely not what it’s cracked up to be. I blame the guy that was practically sitting in my lap, coughing, on the flight over the pond.

I think I'll be staying home again today. I love going to our old apartment building and crocheting on mats for the homeless with the ladies, but I think I should miss another week and keep myself and my cough at home. It's okay. I always have something to do here at home.

Someone doesn't get very far away since we got home. Right now she's sitting on my lap, snuggling with me while I type.

I finished another dish cloth with Hobby Lobby's "I Love This Cotton".

And another baby blanket. I don't remember the name of it but I used Baby Bee Sweet Delight Pomp Nake. It has sparkles in it and is a fun, easily memorized pattern. I actually started another one this morning. They will be going to the hospital for donation.
I really liked this sweet picture I saw online.

I've joined a group of ladies at our church on Wednesday morning that are studying with BSF, or Bible Study Fellowship. People all over the world, of all ages are studying the same thing every week. It goes through the entire school year. There are lectures each week that are taught by people who have attended a class earlier in the week.  Homework every day too. This year the subject is the book of John and I'm looking forward to learning even more about it.

I liked this picture too. I need to remember this. Laugh more! Have a great day my dear friends.

Blessings and love,
Betsy

  3. I am sorry you are still dealing with this mean old cold. I pray you will feel better really soon, but in the meantime just rest and let your body heal. Looks like you have good company there!! The BSF study in John sounds good. I am familiar with BSF, but have not attended that particular group. We have our own ladies' Bible study at our church and we are doing the book of Acts right now. We started it at the first of the year and then took a break for the summer, so now we are picking up where we left off. It's a good study. Your baby blanket is so sweet. Some precious baby will feel warm and cozy and happy in that blanket! Thank you for doing that! Take care and get well soon my friend.

  4. Wow! That must have been a nasty germ! I still wear a mask everywhere I go although I don't go much. Yes, I've had the windows open here too in the mornings but by early evening the AC comes back on. Your puppy dog missed you! I hope you feel better soon.

  8. I hope you feel better from your cold. No fun when getting it on a holiday to England. Your doggie is so cute!!! I am weary as I didn't go back to sleep this morning, since I woke up early. I should have made myself go to sleep then wake up when alarm rings. ARRGG!!!! I am having a biopsy tomorrow afternoon and hope the medication I take tonight won't mess me up much! I haven't knitted on my sweater for days. I have to unravel 3 rows as I have gained another stitch on one end. So annoying! At least there's not alot of stitches to undo. Our weather is cooler at night and morning. May have rain on Wed. Hugs and prayers, Becky

  9. I'm so sorry to hear that cough is still lingering. And I am heartbroken you missed the wedding and the fun parts of your trip. After all this waiting, it just doesn't seem fair. I hope you feel better soon. My granddaughter has been fight a cold that seems to turn into other things every time she starts to get better. She had a sinus infection, then an ear infection, then fevers, a tummy thing for a while, back to sore throat and cough - low grade fevers. She is in 8th grade and is a cheerleader and just hates to miss the games. She was in the ER on Sunday and home Monday and Tuesday with new antibiotics. She is going back to school tomorrow (and is keeping up with school work by emailing teachers) but, like you, SHE IS OVER THIS. I hope you feel better soon.

  11. So sorry you're still feeling ucky. C'mon, Betsy! Get well soon!
    .
I recently learned that son John's girlfriend, Katelyn, crochets! She's currently in Wisconsin at a work conference or I'd ask her to send photos of what she did (I forget what he told me... blanket, maybe?). I saw some cute little coasters (almost like yours) in one of their kitchen drawers (I was cleaning his kitchen for him since he's not well enough to keep up with everything) and asked John about it, that's when he told me. // What is that cutesy face there! Zoey looks like she wants to glue herself to you so you're not apart anymore. 😂 // We've had cool nights (60s) and warm days (85 and up). Looks like we may have a downward trend in another week or so. We'll see. I miss spring and summer already! 😭 Well, only 6 months until spring again. // Hugs and love and blessings and prayers for you, my friend!

I'm so sorry that you're still coughing so much. Whatever that germ was that you picked up, it's hanging on...and on. Sending healing thoughts your way, Granny M

  15. So sorry you are sick. I had that in June...the entire month of June...coughing, lost my voice. It was awful. Finally got some meds and they told me it was acute bronchitis. So glad to be over that. I wish you well and soonest.
