The beautiful Windsor Palace. Mandy and I visited there after she graduated from nursing school years ago. It’s beautiful inside too. We were also able to visit the place where the Queen Mum and now Queen Elizabeth are buried when I was there with Mandy..
We ate lunch at the Prince Harry pub. The food was delicious. There weren’t many patrons inside which surprised me because the food was so good. Maybe it’s their way of protesting Harry and Megan?
The inside of the pub.
Taking a walk through the neighborhood last Wednesday evening.
Yesterday, while the nanny was caring for Baby J, I decided to take a walk a little further afield. I walked to the Queens Park Station underground and back around to the local pub where I had lunch/dinner. The following are a few photos from that walk. I walked over 7000 steps on that excursion and it felt great to get out and around.

Paddington Cemetery is just next-door to the pub and a few blocks from the house.
The inside of the pub where I feasted on Beef Bourguignon and watched the locals visit and have a good time. It looks empty, but it’s not. I tried to get a camera angle that wouldn’t infringe on anyone’s privacy. We have eaten here many times before and always find it a welcoming place to be. The food has never disappointed us either. Well, except for a vegan burger Dennis tried last time we were here. He said it wasn’t very good!😂

The infamous double decker bus! They are all over London.
Another café, that I contemplated eating at before I decided on the pub.
Yet another street showing the building going on in the City.
I hope you are all doing well. For those of you that are new here, I’m sorry I cannot post pictures of Baby J. My DIL’s job prevents me from saying their names online or showing photos of them. Thank you for understanding the need for their privacy and security.

Finding out through Ancestry that ALL my relatives come from England (except one Prussian great, great grandma) has given me an enormous affinity for the "motherland"...lol. When I compare our blistering weather to theirs I really wish the Kendall family would have never gotten on that darn boat back in the 1600's. Both my sons have been to London but they have an Irish dad so they do not share the same love I have for merry old England.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the area where you are--just so adventurous of you to take off on your own! It looks like a great way to explore and maybe next time you can find a yarn shop! lol Take care!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time in London and with Baby J. Collect as many hugs and kisses as your heart will hold.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful place! Have a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteThe palace is so close to the road. Although, I suppose it wasn't when they built it! 😂
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are having a wonderful visit and getting lots of cuddle time in with Baby J!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you're having a good visit. I love England and I've always wanted to vacation there. Alas, looks like it's not to be. Prince Harry, I've always liked him, even his wild times, now, I don't know. I just hope the royals can heal their relationships.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear from you and know that you are enjoying your family time and getting out and about on your own, too. Take care.
ReplyDeleteSo happy you are enjoying your time there! And thank you so for sharing your photos with us. I have never been, and am thrilled to be seeing this beautiful place through your eyes!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad all is going well. I'm impressed with your courage, going walkabout alone. Granny Marigold
ReplyDeletehave fun!!
ReplyDeleteOh how wonderful! I love the pictures, and I marvel at you wandering around town I assume on your own? Wow! I've never been to London or England or anywhere except the good old USA and a short jaunt into Canada once. It would be so lovely to go there. Thank you for sharing it with us. I will look forward to more pictures as you are able. Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a good time walking around London and finding a nice place to eat. I know Phil and I rode on one of the buses in London just because we wanted to when we were there last century. Enjoy your time with your granddaughter J.
ReplyDeleteDid you leave a comment on my latest post as unknown? Just curious as I didn't see a name as usual at the end. God bless you all and have a wonderful day and beyond!! Becky
So great to hear from you Betsy! I love all your pictures and would love to be in London too, walking with you and visiting the area. What fun. And you're having such a good time with Baby J too. Glad you arrived there safely and hope every week you're there will be a cherished one for you and your family there. May God bless you every day! Take good care.
ReplyDeleteI’m so pleased you’re enjoying yourself in London. I don’t think the Prince Harry was empty because of his book, most people over here are not that interested in him and what he has to say. I think it’s more likely the very cold weather and the time of year. Most places are quiet in the new year. Am glad you’re getting out and about too. And the best bit must be the baby cuddles,
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures and descriptions. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteYou know I am traveling in your pocket! I love the streets and I am pretending I am walking with you, looking up at the buildings and confused by the traffic driving on the wrong side of the road. I am helping you decide between which adorable pub to lunch and what to choose from the menu. And most of all, I am rocking that beautiful baby right along with you! They will only stay on your lap for just a minute before they are running off with friends and doing all kinds of activities. Grammas have to savor every moment!
