Please excuse some of the clutter, but we do live in here and it’s a very small space. I try to keep it picked up but a few piles here and there are bound to happen.
In the dining area we have taken the chairs out and put them in storage, except for the two folding chairs. We tend to eat sitting in our recliner’s and use the space more as storage. On the left is the little freezer we bought from Amazon with our printer on top of it. On the table is the toaster oven that works amazingly well. It’s a convection/air fryer/toaster/oven and a few other things. In the bowl is candy for the neighborhood kids. Grandma’s have to keep candy available, don’t we? On the right side is Chloe‘s dog food and on top of that is our file cabinet and my laptop. The cart with all of my craft things sits in front of it right next to my chair. There is a lot in the small space, but we make it work. My mom embroidered the tablecloth over 80 years ago. It’s one of my prized possessions.

I also started a pair of socks on Saturday. This is the “Monkey socks” pattern and it is free on Ravelry. I’m using Knit Picks yarn, but I don’t have the label with me right now. I’ll let you know the color later. I plan to give these as a gift soon.

This is my new portable sewing machine that Dennis bought me for our anniversary. I got it on Amazon for $210. He told me to get whatever kind of machine I wanted but I didn’t want to spend much money and this one works amazingly well. I wasn’t sure how it would do on the thin fabric of the sheers, but the tension was perfect and it didn’t drop any stitches.
It poured down rain all day Friday and was very chilly. I had the electric fireplace on and my little lights and it was so warm and cozy in the trailer and a perfect day to make the curtains. We needed the rain so badly and I’m very grateful for it.

This was a sweater that I made for Piper a few years ago. I finished a white one just like, it only bigger and mailed it off to her last week without taking a picture! So I dug this photo up from the archives. Maybe I can get Mandy to take a picture of her wearing the new one once it arrives. I also have the yarn to make her a pink one, a lavender one, and a red one, at her request. She wears these sweaters all of the time. Tomorrow she is going to be eight years old! Can you believe it? I sure can’t. It seems like only yesterday Mandy and I were walking around their neighborhood in Portland trying to get Piper to decide to come out and meet the world.

Saturday night I made homemade chicken and noodles at Dennis’s request. It’s so nice to have the space to actually roll out the noodles and leave them to dry. Our other trailer didn’t have any space for me to make these. They were delicious and I thought I had made way too many, but we had them as leftovers last night for dinner and they’re all gone! We also had cranberry sauce, green beans with bacon and cantaloupe. I’m sorry I forgot to take a photo of them after they were finished cooking. We ate them too quickly! The pizza cutter is my secret weapon. It makes cutting up the noodles so much easier than trying to use a knife.
Thought I would show you a picture of Larry and Nita at Mt. Rushmore last week. They had gorgeous weather for their trip and had a wonderful time. They are back home now and Sophie has left us to be back with her mom and dad. I must admit I miss having her on my lap while I’m knitting.
I’m sorry this post got a little bit long. I just realized I hadn’t written anything since last Monday. The week just completely got away for me. Take care my friends and I’m trying to check your blogs daily.
Blessings,

Love the sheers: I have them on my windows. They add a level of privacy and allow light in, too. Happy Birthday to Piper! Homemade noodles are delicious. My Mom made them all the time - thanks for triggering those memories.
ReplyDeleteBetsy I missed you ! But no pressure. Your sheers are perfect. Im glad your pals enjoyed Mt Rushmore. I certainly did years ago. I went to Mass for shut ins yesterday on a whim. IT was good to hear the sounds of Mass. My mom loved Mercy Mass on TV in Chicago. She was quite reclusive but faithful nonetheless. Besty , I'm really hoping you will tell my why you love to travel. I never got that bug and get very anxious about leaving home. Can you leave me any tips?
ReplyDeleteYou have made your trailer so cosy and looks very homely. Love the sheers they looks so pretty. Nice to see your friends enjoying their trip. Love the socks, you are one clever lady. Birthday wishes to Miss Piper I am sure she will love her new cardigans. Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteYou do have the knack of making your space very comfy and inviting! The monkey socks are a good knit! Take care.
ReplyDeleteOh I just love your adorable home sweet friend. It looks so cozy. I am so thankful you are settling in and loving it, too. Yay. Wishing you a day filled with many blessings dear friend. ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteThank you for inviting us to see your home. It doesn't look cluttered to me at all!!! Wonderful tablecloth!! Gorgeous sweater.. I see now why Piper likes her Grandma to make her different coloured sweaters because they look pretty and are cosy and snug. Homemade noodles.......just delicious!! keep well Amanda x
ReplyDeleteYour trailer looks so cozy and inviting. Looks like you have it well organized. Love your mom's tablecloth. I've never made homemade noodles, it's something I need to try. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteLovely new sheers, and how exciting to have a new sewing machine! It looks like you're really making the most of your space.
ReplyDeleteThat tablecloth is a treasure, and your knitting looks so cozy. It's starting to cool down here as well.
Have a blessed week!
I am enjoying your site very much!! Just found you not long ago!! Your knitting is so exquisite!!
ReplyDeleteIt was so lovely to have a glimpse of your cozy home. The sheers are really nice and I can see why they make the space more homey.
ReplyDeleteYou've been so busy making socks and sweaters. I don't know where you get all the energy. Have a great week.
Your trailer reminds me so much of my mother's. It was her favorite place in the world to be. She had it fixed up so cute and had a great spot right on the bay.
ReplyDeleteI envy your noodle making skills. I tried it once and they were terrible.
Thanks for inviting us to watch you feather your nest and get more settled in Betsy. I feel right at home! I haven't made noodles in more than 20 years, but yours remind me how I enjoyed doing so all those years ago. I admire all your stitching projects as well. I have been side-tracked from stitching by getting involved in a few Bible study/prayer...Zoom groups. My family members and friends in the Santa Rosa, CA, area are all safe but affected by the wildfires there the last few days. 🙏💜
ReplyDeleteI just love how homey you are making your trailer, it's so cozy and everything is right at hand. I love the sheers. Our trailer is also my happy place - we have to get it washed up and ready for our birthday (Dayle's) trip to the coast. I am looking forward to being at the ocean. I've got quite a case of cabin fever going. LOL! Thanks for sharing your little paradise with us. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you and Dennis are settling in nicely to your new trailer life Betsy. Love the sheers you made. The tablecloth embroidered by your Mom is so beautiful - what a treasure! I have some pieces that my Mom embroidered and I use them. You are keeping busy with all your sewing and knitting - lovely projects!
ReplyDeleteYour new spot looks nice and cozy! A good place to hunker down for the winter.
ReplyDeleteWe've had the a/c on for the last couple of days, but I finally woke up this morning to fresh, cool air! I am ready for fall.
I love seeing photos of your beautiful, little home. So cozy and warm and inviting. I LOVE small spaces. Excess just stresses me out terribly. So thankful you are all settled in and happy.
ReplyDeleteYour sheer curtains are lovely. I need to get my curtains in dining room up soon. One hem needs fixed then sew other hem. They're too long and touch the floor. Getting my office area cleared out which has sewing machine I it. Cloe to getting it reorganized. I saw knit picks sox yarn on sale but didn't get any. Thought about it though. I need to finish my projects first. I'm sure Piper will like her sweater. Sun was red this eve. Not sure what fire it's coming from. Looks like smoke clouds are from the south. Take care my friend. 🐰😍
ReplyDeleteI roll up my noodles into a roll like cinnamon rolls then cut them and unroll them :)
