Remember

Remembering all of our veterans and active duty to serve this great country of ours. Ours is a military family. My father served in World War II.

My parents were married hours before he shipped out.

My oldest brother Roger, also served in the Navy during the Vietnam war.

My brother-in-law Mike Danahy who passed away last year, served in the United States Army.

And my wonderful husband Dennis served in the United States Air Force.

I know I have photos of Dennis somewhere in his uniform but I couldn’t find it this morning. I wish I had photos of Roger and Mike in their uniforms for you.

Suffice it to say, I’m very proud of the men in our family who sacrificed for the rest of us to be able to enjoy our freedom’s.

May God bless all of the veterans and currently serving members of the Armed Forces and their families on this and every day.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”  John 15:13

  1. What a lovely post! I'm knitting away listening to an Audible documentary about WW2 and your photos really brought it home for me. I had six uncles who served in the Pacific, one on a submarine. Now my son programs those submarines for the Navy here in DC. It's all come full circle. They really were the Greatest Generation.

  14. What a great post . . . we need to never forget about those men and women that put their lives on the line for our freedom. We own them a great appreciation. Two of my brothers were military men for over twenty years, and I have always considered them and all service men and women as heroes . . . war time or not.
Thank you both for your prayers on our behave, we truly appreciate them. We live each day as it comes and don't know how we'll feel from day to day (I guess I say "how we feel" because when he is having a bad day, it's very hard for me to not feel his pain, too). Maybe not physically but certainly in my heart.
God bless you ad your family and thank you again.
    Connie :)
