The autumn colors put on a beautiful show.
Snow up high, but thankfully not on the road.
Isn’t this gorgeous? And my iPhone photos at 80 mph don’t even begin to do it justice. I think this one looks almost like a painting.
This is a little valley just before you cross from Montana into Wyoming. Dennis even pulled off the interstate so I could get this picture. I thought it was just so beautiful!
The Big Horn Mountains in the back ground.
Then, just before we crossed from Wyoming into South Dakota I got the shot of Devils Tower National Monument. This was also taken as we were flying down the interstate and the tower itself was over 30 miles away!

Just before we reached our stopping point for the night in Mitchell South Dakota, Dennis said “look in your rearview mirrorand this is the photo I got of a gorgeous sunset behind us.
This is a photo of the shawl I was knitting as we drove. It’s a Christmas present and I finished it and a sweater for Piper. Photos to come!
I have lots more photos of our trip. Next, I’ll show you the pictures of the famous Corn Palace in Mitchell, South Dakota. It was too dark to see it when we arrived Saturday night, but before we left Sunday morning we stopped by and took some pictures. When we lived in Nebraska, we would stop every few years and see it on our way to the Black Hills or Yellowstone National Park. We haven’t seen it for almost 30 years so it was a treat.
My back held up very well on the drive to and from Nebraska, but unfortunately I over did it while we were there and spent a day and a half down with back spasms. I went to the doctor yesterday and he has given me a prescription that he hopes will help the spasms and a referral to a spine and pain center. I’m sure hoping someone figures it all out soon. We were only there a week and I wasted over a day on this silly back of mine. Thank you to all of you keep me in your thoughts and prayers as we traveled. You don’t know how much I appreciate it. I am so blessed to have you all as friends.
See you again soon! I hope you all have a wonderful Friday. This new app makes posting so easy! I wish I would have found it a long, long time ago. I appreciate all the encouraging comments on the last two posts. You girls are great!
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23
Blessings,
Betsy
You will be in our prayers in the hope the medication will give you some relief. What a mega drive you undertook, but such beautiful scenery to admire. Glad to hear that your missed the storms and kept ahead of the snow. Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love the photos! A road trip is just the best thing ever. It's been too long since we've been on one.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. I love your BIGGER pictures.... Those snow-covered mountains are AWESOME.....
ReplyDeleteSorry about your back. Hope you can get some permanent relief soon.
Hugs,
Betsy

ReplyDeleteHow I love the open spaces of the West: your photos captured it beautifully.
ReplyDeleteThe larger photos are wonderful....better than Instagram in my opinion :) You got some great views, and thanks so much for sharing them! You and yours are regularly in my prayers for good health and blessings, dear Betsy. Happy Weekend! xxxxxxxx
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed seeing your photos! Brought back lots of memories of when we used to go out west! :)
ReplyDeleteNice photos of your road trip. Glad you figured it out with the new app! Prayers continued for your back and overall health. I had a YL event at my house this evening. It was fun and had two make and takes for my friends to take home. Now I need to a bit more clean-up on the table. Think I'll make thieves foaming hand soap for us as well. Hugs and take my friend!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant Betsy!! Loved seeing your drive.. praying hard new referrals might in God's mercy bring answers for your back.
ReplyDeleteHugs Shaz. X
Gorgeous countryside photos from your very productive road trip! Sorry to hear about the back spasms. Such a pain (literally). :/ Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the beautiful pictures as I would probably never get to see it otherwise. Glad most of your trip was painfree but back spasms are so painful and really restrict you as you're afraid to move! Your shawl looks gorgeous in that pretty yarn. I pray you have a pain free day!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are stunning Betsy. So sorry about your back but I am sure that Mandy and Dennis were happy to take care of you. I hope the spine center will help.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely photos . Our country is spectacularly beautiful. I like mountains in the distance. Not up close and on windy roads! We never got to the corn palace, so I'll be very interested in that post coming up. Praying for your back Betsy
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures Betsy! I love how wide open scenery in the West looks. So sorry to hear about your back spasms. I'm hoping and praying you have answers soon and are on the healing path.
ReplyDeleteThese photos are so beautiful- I think the first one looks like a painting, too. It would look good framed. I am so sorry about you back- I added that to my prayer list. One thing that helped for me was Aquasize- it somehow made me feel better, and in the pool, you can’t damage any joints.
ReplyDeleteHi Betsy, I am so sorry you had to waste part of your time down with your back. I hope you can find a solution soon. We went to the corn palace years ago. Nancy
ReplyDeleteSo thankful you were able to find the app that is helping you so much! Oh, the photos are just amazing. You are right they do look like paintings. Just gorgeous! I am so thankful you did as well as you did on your travels, but so sorry you are dealing with the back spasms and pain, dear friend. Praying for you and sending love and hugs!
