Sunshine and flowers

We have had some beautiful weather here and also a very stormy weekend. Through it all I’ve been enjoying time at the lake.  I have geraniums planted and a few hanging pots.

Here is the outside of our trailer. Sorry about my car parked in the front.

Here is a view from the road between Larry and Nita‘s trailer and ours. We have the gazebo with our dining room table, which unfortunately we have not been able to use this summer because we can’t have meals together because of the nasty virus. Beyond that you can see our “living room“ furniture. We try to keep a distance between us when we’re outside sitting and visiting.

Miss Piper and Mandy went on a 7 mile bike ride the other day. This was taken right after they finished. 7 miles is a long way for those little legs and tiny tires! I’m very proud of her. And don’t you just love that helmet?  She even has a seat to take her babies along on a bike ride.

I had never before seen an iris of this color. It belongs to a friend of mine here at the lake. She has several dozen of them planted outside of her trailer. They are all gorgeous right now.

I have been working on this baby blanket since last Friday. It is so time consuming. There are so many ends to weave in, and I try to do it as I go so it’s not overwhelming when the blanket is finished. I’m crocheting the border now, so not too much longer.

These are the socks that I showed you last week. All I had done then was the cuff and I did the rest of the leg Thursday evening. I haven’t picked it up since I started working on the blanket. Hopefully I can get back to them soon. I like how the pattern is turning out.

Mandy and Piper went to the zoo this morning. Facemasks were required and only a certain number of people were being let in at a time.  They had a trail you had to strictly follow and you were not allowed inside any of the buildings. They had a great time though. Life is certainly strange now isn’t it?

Wishing you all a wonderful week.
Much love and blessings,
Betsy

  1. Looks like you have a lovely little sanctuary.
Those irises are similar in colour to some I have (mine are a little darker, I think). Irises come in so many colours! It's amazing.

  2. I love the colour of your Iris! This is the time of the year that we get to enjoy Irises in all their splendor, and dream about adding a new one (or two).
It's good that Mandy and Piper had an enjoyable time even if they couldn't go into any of the buildings. I hope they didn't miss too many exhibits.

  3. It is lovely to see your pretty lake home, your latest beautiful stitches, some of your dear family, the wonderful unusual Iris and the encouraging verse. This morning I knitted a few more rows on the current baby blanket I have been working on for months. I have been trying to crochet a towel holder like the ones I made at Christmas because a friend asked me for a beige one. The only beige yarn I have is a cotton blend and the pattern looks wonky compared to the ones I made in acrylic so I am trying to figure out why. Thanks so much for posting, dear Betsy. I am smiling at you and sending hugs. πŸ˜ŠπŸ’œπŸ™πŸ’œπŸ’πŸ’œπŸ§Ά

    Psalm 147:3-5
He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.
Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

  9. Lovely flowers out now. Newer roses are blooming. Plan on planting them in the ground once the house gets painted. I enjoy seeing all your photos in this post including Miss Piper and Mandy. We had a thunderstorm Sat. Usually just a clap or two of thunder. This lasted 45 minutes. Have a blessed day my friend!😍🌹🌈

  16. What a beautiful place you get to enjoy in your gorgeous and roomy new trailer. I'm happy for you that you found it. I wish we had a place like that to put ours. I'm proud of Piper for keeping up with her momma on that long ride! That sock is turning out lovely and that is some complicated looking blanket! I hope you get to stay there a lot this summer. Luckily our back deck is a happy place for us and I'm glad we have it especially this year. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  20. Oh, life IS so strange right now, dear friend. It is somewhat heartbreaking to me, to be honest. Nothing feels right, but we know that our God is in control of all, and His eye is upon His own. I love the set-up at your lake home and how you have your flower garden. It is just beautiful. It seems so sad that you can't eat with your friends and have to be so separated. I have never seen such a time in all my life. I am glad you can be there, at least, and you can enjoy your beautiful new camper and the view and everything. May God bless you always.

  21. Definitely very strange and trying times. Glad you are able to enjoy time at the lake. Wow! 7 miles. That is a lot for a little girl. Bravo Piper! All those tiny granny squares. That's why I tend to go for giant grannies. And if it's in a variegated yarn, all the better. Not so many ends. :) I'm a lazy crafter. Take care of yourself.

  22. Our zoo is also open with the same rules, but you can't go on any of the little rides which Little B loves so we won't be visiting for a while. Love the blanket Betsy. Stay safe my friend.
