A little early.....

Hmmm.  Do you think I'm a little early with this?

Yep.  I think so too.  On Saturday Dennis volunteered to get my box of snowmen out of the storage closet for me.  I don't remember the last time he did anything with decorating because I ALWAYS do it while he's at work and I hate to ask him to do things I can do.  He works way too hard as it is.  This year he didn't want me crawling around the storage area and carrying boxes because of my back so he brought EVERYTHING upstairs.  Not just the snowmen.  Everything.

I was so tired of autumn décor since it's been out for two months and since we aren't having any company for Thanksgiving, I thought I would just put my snowmen out.  I love, love, love snowmen.  Well, one thing led to another and by the end of the day the tree was up.  We didn't put one up last year so seeing all of the ornaments and talking about where they were from was lots of fun.  I really enjoyed putting it up together.

Everything else is out too and "it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!"  I have never, ever put the tree up this early and I'm sure by Christmas I'll be really tired of it but I'm sure loving turning the lights in the room off and just enjoying the tree.

Thank you to everyone who asked about my tests.  All the biopsies came back clear-no cancer!  The nurse told me they removed 12-15 polyps in my esophagus!  No wonder my throat hurt for awhile!  My 6 month cardiologist visit is this morning and then hopefully we're done with doctors for a long while.  The insurance company told me this morning that once again I've met my out of pocket for the year so I don't have to pay a co-pay.  f course it's the end of the year and we start over in January.  You really don't want to hear what our out-of-pocket is.  It's outrageous!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my American friends and I hope the rest of you have a lovely week.  I have much to be thankful for this year and every year.

"Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!" 2 Corinthians 9:15

Blessings,
Betsy

  1. Great news, Betsy. I'm so glad everything was negative. And I'm glad you got that scheduled when you did. 19 polyps - wow! I love your tree and I don't think it's too early. If you enjoy it, do it. I love snowmen also. We got a new tree last year right after Christmas. It is a prelit one and the Hubs set it up so we could see the different lights. I love multi colored lights but when we flipped it to all white, I told him I saw a snowman tree next year. We are going to my sister's on Saturday after Thanksgiving, so I just might put up my tree on Thursday. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Dennis

  2. Our tree has been up for a while. I usually have it up the first weekend in November. I love looking at and all our ornaments. Each one has a memory for us, so it's very special to us. I always like to turn all the lights off and just light up the tree. It makes me smile. It is a reminder to me of how Love and Salvation was made flesh, so many years ago. Merry Christmas! :) I am so thankful you are ok. Many prayers have been sent your way sweet friend. ((hugs)) Blessings always

  3. Great news about your tests Betsy! Hoping your doctor visit today is a breeze. Yes, medical expenses are outrageous.

I love putting up a tree and decorating it - so many memories associated with all the ornaments.

Wishing you and Dennis a very Happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy!!

  5. Good news on the test results Betsy. I hope your appointment went well today. We have met our deductible too, well having my son in the hospital for five days in August helped but boy did we pat a lot for that. I think if you enjoy your decorations being up then it is perfect timing. Mine will go up this weekend as it is the only time I have to do it. Happy Thanksgiving.

  9. Thrilled to hear that your test results were good - definitely a praise prayer just in time for Thanksgiving service.

Most people in this area have their outdoor decorations up already because the weather has been so nice. I plan to put up my tree this weekend. It hasn't been up for two or three years.

  11. Will get out Christmas tree over the weekend hopefully. Megan wants to go see the lights lit up in Canby park this weekend so will see what the weather is like. Heard some Christmas music in KFC when I was eating with my friend Tamara this evening. I love snowmen too! And saw a few Precious Moments items at Walgreens but my PM nativity set is enough. It's huge and still out....rarely do I put it away...one of these days I might!? Happy weekend and blessed thanksgiving to you, my sweet friend. So glad your med tests came back ok! SWEET! Thankful Dennis brought all your festive items up for you. Hugs to both of you!

  17. Oh, PRAISE GOD for this wonderful news! I am so thankful there is no cancer, all glory be to Jesus! He is so faithful to answer the prayers of His trusting children. And, no, I surely don't think you are too early to put up your Christmas stuff! We are doing the same thing here at our house! Zach is SO excited. I got to wrap a bunch of his presents tonight, and, oh, it just meant so much to me. How I thank God for the abundant gift of seeing another Christmas season with my precious family. I pray for many, many more happy, healthy years...for you and your dear hubby and for us here, too. Sending much love and many hugs to you, sweet friend! Enjoy your Thanksgiving with your friends tomorrow. :)

  20. Hi! Our tree got put up last night too. We usually do it right after Thanksgiving but that is when Mike and Melissa and girls could come over so they got it down from the attic in the garage and helped decorate it. Now I need to take down my fall decorations! They don't go too well together! Nancy
