For my American readers, do you have plans for the 4th of July? It's kind of hard to plan, since it's on Wednesday this year. Right smack in the middle of the week. Hubby has to work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. We're going camping with our friends Larry and Nita anyway! Hubby will just commute to work on Thursday and Friday, along with Larry. It will be good, because he will be in and out of the house everyday so things will get checked on at home. Meanwhile, Chloe and I are heading to the Lake tomorrow and not coming home until Sunday! Oh, my life is so wonderful! If the kids and grandkids lived closer everything would be perfect.
Hubby and I spent the weekend at the lake with just Chloe, but we've already made friends there and Chloe attended her first birthday party on Saturday. She was invited to Lucy's 7th birthday party. Five dogs attended. There were hot dogs and chips to eat, (both humans and dogs ate lunch!) Party hats, and goodie bags. The girls wore pink scarves and the boy dogs wore blue! Oh, my goodness! Us empty nesters have waaaayy too much time on our hands when we have doggy parties. I couldn't believe it. But, Chloe had a wonderful time. The dogs get along great and she didn't want to get in the car to come home yesterday. She has friends now.
I cannot get the pictures to post on here of her so I'll do a second blog from my phone with those pictures. I don't think I'm ever going to figure out all this technological "stuff".
(Edited to add that I just plain cannot get the photos from my phone to the blog. I emailed them to myself but I can't find them on the computer. I'm so sorry. They are REALLY cute pictures. Maybe I can get some help sometime figuring this out.)
I haven't been completing very many projects lately. I start something and then rip it out because the pattern seems to be wrong, or I just don't like it. I don't have anything pressing right now, so I've just got some baby sockies for charity on the needles. I'll work on those off and on this week while camping. We seem to play cards and visit a lot so not much knitting/crocheting gets done. Here's a photo of the market bag that I finished on Friday. I started it over three times and still don't like the looks of the handle. It seems very wide and short. And I made it narrower and longer than the pattern called for already! I think I'll make some adjustments to the pattern before making anymore. It hangs a bit odd in the photo, but actually has a rectangular bottom and spiral sides. I like the bag itself, just not the handle.
Well, I need to finish laundry and ironing if I want to go play this week! I'll try to post with Chloe's pictures from my phone now.
Have a wonderful week and HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!
Blessings,
Betsy
Hi Betsy, glad you had another lovely trip to the wonderful lake.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful 4th July celebration.

Happy 4th of July, my friend! Sounds like you're having a ton of fun at the lake, good for you! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteI hope you are enjoying your time away from home. We had a good 4th (my hubby worked, too, of course) and then we shot off fireworks - but it is still SOOO bright out at 10:00...
ReplyDeleteThe neighbor's dog went hiding at the first firecracker pop. Poor doggie. He's such a bully of a dog, too. He barks and growls at everything that goes past his fence. But when it comes to popping, he's a baby. I should also mention that this dog is at least 3 1/2 feet high - enormous!
Have a great week!
