It's really good to be home. Seeing our kids and grand-baby was wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. But the traveling? Not so much. I still say the airlines used the covid era to move the seats closer together and everyone in every airport seems to be angry. I find that sad. Life is too short to argue with everyone about everything. I prefer to assume that the other person meant no wrong and try to fix whatever the issue is.
I have just a few more photos of our trip. Actually, I have a LOT of photos but they all have "J" or our DIL in them. When we first arrived the kids had had a carpenter building shelves in their living room and painting it. He finished on the 2nd Sunday we were there. Everyone went out the next night and purchased the Christmas tree. It took three different places to find one that still had a tree since it was the 23rd. It was a beautiful tree though. I also thought the carpenter did a very good job on building and painting the beautiful shelves and cabinets. He also painted the ceiling and light green walls. The kids plan to get a different area rug and coffee table. This room was the "reception room" in Victorian Days. Their home is narrow and tall. I think I may have said in my last post that our room was 34 steps UP, on the top floor. We overlooked the rooftops of London. It's a beautiful nighttime view and we saw fireworks while lying in bed on Christmas Eve.
We had a wonderful Sunday school class and Worship service this morning. The music was everything beautiful and seeing everyone again after after 4 Sundays of absence was great. I missed last week because after our flight arriving late, late Saturday night, Dennis woke me up and I fell asleep again. I woke up two hours later, way too late for church.
I'm sorry I missed commenting on your blogs on Friday. I was out of it from the anesthesia all day after no sleep at all from the prep on Thursday night. It's like jet lag all over again! I'll be back to visit again soon.
I loved all the pictures and their living room (parlor) is so pretty. I love the colors. Looks like you all had such a great time decorating cookies and making ornaments together, and other fun stuff. Those stairs would've probably done me in! LOL. I will be praying for you and the results of the biopsy. Praying there is NO malignancy and that maybe it's just a bigger polyp. God is in control and He is already there. He's got you covered no matter what may come. I know you are happy to be home even though you had such a great time with your family. There's just no place like home and our own beds! Thank you for your kind comments on my recent posts. I haven't had time to answer everyone, but I love hearing from each one. May the Lord watch over you and keep you in all your ways. (((HUGS)))
ReplyDeleteFirst --- sending good wishes that the biopsy is benign.
ReplyDeleteSecond -- Oh my golly, your son's home is lovely. You are right. That is a perfect Christmas tree.
I can't imagine how lovely it was looking out over London. But, glad you are home safe and sound and enjoying your own bed.
Happy new year.

What a gorgeous apartment! Such beautiful windows with all that light coming in. I could sit in that yarn shop forever just admiring all that yarn spilling out everywhere. What a beautiful photo.
ReplyDeleteSending positive thoughts for a good outcome on your test. Nothing is easy after we reach a certain age. I used to sail through doctor visits without a thought. Now I panic just thinking about routine check ups. There is always something to worry about.
Their home is beautiful, especially that fireplace and new shelves!! And all the food looks good too. Praying for good results from the biopsy.
ReplyDeleteYour children's home looks very nice!! I cannot imagine having to go 34 stairs up to my room!! No wonder you lost weight :)
ReplyDeleteThe phyllo dough creation looks tasty!!!
Prayers for good results on the biopsy. And if not as nice of news, prayers for comfort for a good plan to deal with it. I am glad you had the tests and that the doctors are "on it". One day at a time.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely home! But it is hard when it isn't your own home. That living room is just beautiful and the bookcases are fantastic! What a wonderful place to grow up for granddaughter J and the new baby! It was wonderful you got to spend the holidays with them. All that delicious food. And I am in awe you could do all those steps. And wonderful that you made it home safely.
I'm glad to have you back!
Your sons home is so pretty! Extra prayers for good biopsy results Betsy!
ReplyDeleteYour trip sounded wonderful. I'm delighted that you were able to go. I'm sure climbing those stairs was great exercise for keeping weight off. Maybe I need a home with stairs, LOL. Besty you are in my prayers, praying for good news from your doctor.
ReplyDeleteI said it before, and I'll say it again. What a wonderful place to spend Christmas! I hope to do it one day but for now I live vicariously through you!
ReplyDeleteSending good vibes for the biopsy report. I'm kind of the same way - I don't tend to worry. Whatever it is, I'll manage it. I think it helps that we are content in our daily life. it helps put things in perspective.
That is a beautiful room!! I agree, the carpenter did a great job on the shelves. The yarn graphic made me smile, I can imagine you sitting in the chair with love in your eyes! :))
ReplyDeletePrayers that your test results come back negative, God is with you.
Dear Betsy, I had a comment and it went away!! Did I publish it and forget, oh my. Well I'm commenting again. The reception room is so pretty and I agree, the carpenter did a great job. I am smiling a the yarn graphic, I can imagine you sitting in the chair with love in your eyes! Sending prayers for good test results, God is with you.
ReplyDeleteI think the medical field can find a better way to do a colonoscopy than drinking that wretched prep and having diarrhea for several days!!!! Prayers that all is well.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you had a good time with your family in England. No sickness there for you which was good for you. That's a lot of yarn to view but a lot to look to buy. I hope you have good and healthy new year!! I am glad you were able to come back to USA safely, in spite of people being upset. God helps all of us through our times in life.!! Hugs and prayers, Becky
ReplyDeleteI have visited London 3 times and the third time I stayed in a Victorian house on top floor and it was probably 34 stairs up. The house was owned by interdenominational Christian association for Christians to stay at I can't think of the name. The kitchens where we had our meals were in the basement so a long walk. The stairs on first floor were wide but narrow on top story as servant quarters but as you say excellent views. Especially of the lovely garden and the squirrels playing.
ReplyDeletePraying dear Betsy all is well with your colonscopy results.
