Yesterday was spent at the cemetery, making arrangements and starting to clean out her apartment. We need to have everything out by the end of the month. Dennis and I are so exhausted. His brother, Doug, and his girlfriend flew into town yesterday and will give us a lot of help today cleaning out the apartment.
Since Mom is being cremated by her request, we’re tentatively planning the memorial service for May 31 to give all of the out-of-town relatives time to make arrangements.
Hang in there my friends. I truly will be back someday on a more regular basis.
This photo is Dennis’s brother, Doug, Mom and of course Dennis, last year here at our condo. I love this picture. She truly loved her kids and I know she’s thrilled at being in Heaven, reunited with Dad and their daughter Karen.
Betty June Soliday Queen 9/11/36 - 4/24/25
Take care my friends.
Blessings and love,
Betsy
May she rest in peace.

ReplyDeleteI am so glad that you were able to be with her and that her passing was comfortable and peaceful. My deepest sympathy - you were all so good to her and the love you shared showed through. I hope you can get some rest. She was loved and is at peace with her husband and daughter now.

ReplyDeleteSympathy my friend Betsy and Dennis. God be with you 🙏 🌷
ReplyDeleteFor her sake, I am glad she went swiftly and peaceably. Even so, give grief some time for it will hit you after the work is over with soon enough. Prayers for comfort and strength.
ReplyDeleteI cannot think of a more beautiful scene than one of God's children going into His arms with the peace on your mom's face that she was going to her heavenly residence. What a precious daughter you are and were to read and sing and comforter her at her passing. My sister and I were with my Mom years ago when she also peacfully entered heaven on angels wings. You will be in my prayers, and take as much time as you need. Love you.
ReplyDeleteOh Betsy, how wonderful that you were able to be with her during her last hour of life here on earth. I know she was comforted by your presence, even if she couldn't respond. The hymns and peace and love surrounded her with peace. What a wonderful way to meet her Savior face to face...and be welcomed by her dear loved ones already there! My heart goes out to you and Dennis and his family as you begin the process of cleaning out her apartment and making lots of decisions about things. May God give you all strength and comfort and peace of mind, knowing she is no longer confused and unhappy. She's in the best possible place EVER!! (((Hugs))) to you all.
ReplyDeleteMy condolences to you and Dennis. You made your Mom's last hour on earth so wonderfully peaceful. May she rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for your loss. But could we all be so lucky to pass so peacefully! The pain is for those who are left behind.

Betsy may you and Dennis find peace in this time of mourning the loss of Betty June. She is wearing her royal crown now.
ReplyDeleteI'm saying Amen, because God's been very good to me. It sounds like she was ready to go home and now she is rejoicing and out of pain. God be with you all while going through this and saying your goodbyes.

ReplyDeleteSo nice you could be with her and comfort her; thinking of you and the rest of your family. Big hugs, too.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful it is that she had someone with her at the end. It was always my biggest fear with mom and dad that I would step out at the wrong time. When I say I slept on the floor to be close, I'm not kidding. I got to hold both their hands and felt that transfer of energy and then the peace that follows. It was precious.
ReplyDeleteMay her memory be a blessing.
I read your blog regularly but never comment. I would like to express my condolences to you and your sweet husband Mr. Dennis. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers sending virtual huggs.

I know it is a big undertaking as we did it with my mother's.
ReplyDelete"Absent from the body, present with the LORD."
ReplyDeletePraise God for the sure and certain hope of Salvation in Jesus and that we'll be reunited with dear ones who love Him also.
I sang my darling dad the LORD is my Shepherd, and when I came to:
" I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever " dad gave a sigh and passed over, he too was very peaceful, for he knew the Prince of Peace, the Lord Jesus.
Prayer hugs dearest Betsy,
