In other news, I have started another pair of socks for the Christmas basket. I love these socks! They are so bright and happy. It’s Paton’s Kroy Socks in the “sweet stripes” colorway. I did a K2, P2 ribbing for 20 rows and then the plain vanilla. I’m getting ready to turn the heel and I’ll use the Eye of Partridge heel.
I finished the sweater I’ve been working on since the beginning of the month. It is another “Portage Sweater” that is a paid for pattern on Ravelry. I used Hobby Lobby’s I love this Yarn in “Ivory Tweed”. I love this pattern too! As most of you know, it is the sixth sweater that I’ve knitted with this pattern. This one is for a gift, but I’m thinking I would love to have one for myself someday in this colorway. I just dropped it in the mail about an hour ago, so it’s off to its new home. I can’t wait to find out if the person receiving it likes it as much as I do.
And I just started this little square. It will be another baby diamond’s blanket for a baby shower at church. The shower is in a little over a week. We seem to be having all girl babies at the church lately and no boys. At least the girls will have close friends to grow up with.
I thought this was a neat picture and reminds me of what a lot of our homes may look like. Doesn’t she look very content in her room full of squishy yarn?
Not too much else is happening here lately. Dennis had a birthday last week, Mandy‘s birthday is next week, and mine is the following week. It’s been very cold. This morning when I left for my doctors appointment it was a feels like temperature of -12°F. Would you believe I was wearing flip-flops and a sweater? I still get so hot. I think I’ve worn real shoes only twice this winter so far. It’s supposed to be a little warmer Thursday and Friday and then be back below zero for the air temperatures by the weekend. I guess that’s winter in the Midwest. We would much rather be down south, where even though it’s cold to those of you who live there, it would be positively balmy to all of us!
Please remember to pray for all of those in California affected by the horrible fires, those in Tennessee and North Carolina that are still suffering from the hurricane, and of course, the people in the Middle East and the Ukraine, who have so many wars going on. The world seems to be spinning out of control these days. I get my peace through the Lord Jesus Christ. Without him, I’m not sure what I would do. I hope you have the same source of peace in your heart.
Take care and I’ll be back again soon.
Blessings and love,
Betsy
Great Is Thy Faithfulness
By: Text - Thomas O. Chisholm

1. “Great is Thy faithfulness,” O God my Father,
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not
As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not
As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.
“Great is Thy faithfulness!” “Great is Thy faithfulness!”
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided—
“Great is Thy faithfulness,” Lord, unto me!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided—
“Great is Thy faithfulness,” Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above,
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above,
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!
So nice to see your post! But I'm sorry to hear about your health issues and hope you can get them resolved soon. I love that sock yarn and seeing your projects. BTW, that's one of my favorite hymns, too. Hugs from WA.
ReplyDeleteOh dear! Praying for you regarding the adrenal gland and the cyst on the spine. Maybe the adrenal issue is why you are so hot/warm all the time. Perhaps some medication for that may help. Praying God will heal you and that neither issue is anything serious. God is in control. That sweater is beautiful, and I am certain whoever receives it will love it! They'd be crazy not to! I love the song "Great is Thy Faithfulness". One of my old favorites. And Psalm 118 sure is true, isn't it? Yes, our confidence should be in the Lord. He is the ONLY one who can help us. But it's nice to know that He will direct His chosen people to govern wisely...we must PRAY!! The picture of the woman in her yarn room is lovely...do you have a room like that? Since I know absolutely NOTHING about knitting or crochet', I do not own a ball of yarn, so no, I do not have anyplace in my house that looks like that. But I am thankful for those who do know how to do those things! I've had two beautiful shawls hand-crocheted for me this past year by two lovely women, and I treasure those gifts so much. I can't begin to imagine how they did it, but I sure am thankful for them and for their sweet gifts to me. God is so good. Please take care and when is your birthday? Happy Birthday to your hubby, and happy early birthday to you!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY NEW YEAR SISTER¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ Y FELIZ CUMPLEAÑOS PARA TU ESPOSO, YO CUMPLI AÑOS EL 8 DE ENERO, YA TENGO 65 AÑOS MI DIOS ¿DONDE SE FUE EL TIEMPO?JAJAJA . TAMBIEN ESTOS DIAS FUI AL MEDICO Y SIEMPRE ME ENCUENTRA ALGO NUEVO, GRACIAS A DIOS SON COSAS QUE SE PUEDEN SUPERAR CON ALGUNA MEDICACION,COMO LA PRESION, UN POCO DE COLESTEROL, ME ENCONTRARON UNOS GANGLIOS DEBAJO DEL BRAZO CERCA DEL CODO ASI QUE TENGO QUE IR A OTRO MEDICO, YO ME SIENTO BIEN, PERO IRE PARA SACARME LAS DUDAS. REALMENTE VIVIMOS EN UN MUNDO TERRIBLEMENTE MALO Y SIN AMOR, TAMBIEN BUSCO PAZ EN JESUS, AUNQUE A VECES ME CUESTA, SON MUCHAS COSAS HORRIBLES LO QUE LE PASA AL MUNDO... BENDICIONES¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

BLESSINGS¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
DeleteSorry you are having so many doctor visits. Hopefully, they will help. The sweater turned out very nicely. I'm sure the recipient will truly enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteOuf....that's a lot of health news to be dealing with all at once. It is terrible to grow old. Everyone we know who is our age is either dying or dead. I now see why old people have such high rates of depression. I suppose if my Grands lived closer they would offer up a new lease on life but I rarely see them. Sorry about the pity party but it's been one of those days. No good news here with the BIL in hospice. It's been terrible watching him suffer. The Mister is taking it all pretty hard.
ReplyDeleteOn a happier note, I love that sock AND that project bag. Aren't we lucky that we have such things to take our minds off our worries. I'm like a dog with a squirrel. Show me some pretty yarn and I forget everything else.
Doctors appointments are never ending it seems we had four appts today, tomorrow is a day off! Medicare is good but bad because the doctors seem to order lots of tests. I hope you get in sooner to find out about your new medial mysteries! Happy Birthday to Dennis! Sounds like lots of cake in your future! Happy Birthday to you and to Mandy too! Celebrate all month!
ReplyDeleteLove the socks and the sweater! I’ve never seen such bright colors of Patons Kroy in the stores around here. Praying that you can get some answers soon about the doctors’ appointments. Happy Birthday to all those in your family this month.
ReplyDeleteBelated birthday wishes for Dennis. January is a busy month for you. Both for birthdays and also doctor appointments!! Doctors always want you to have tests and more tests. As we get older there's always something that is discovered.
ReplyDeleteI love the latest sweater and I hope you eventually get one made for yourself!!
