An old project revived...

I've decided to join in with Jennifer and her http://www.thistlebearhome.com/2015/10/winter-project-link-party.html

Although obviously I have NO idea how to do a proper link on here.  ***grin***
I hope you'll bear with me.  Please visit Jennifer and see what her winter project is along with others who are joining her in this party throughout the winter.

My project is the log cabin blanket that I began last winter in order to use up some of my odds and ends of yarn. It's been put on the back burner all summer while I worked on smaller things and now I've decided to drag it back out again.
I've also been reading this week. This is another of Karen Kingsbury's series. I finished all three in the set and enjoyed them very much.
I went out to the lake today to do some cleaning at the trailer. Scrubbing down the barbecue grill, etc. We're going to be closing it up for the season on Saturday and I'm trying to get a head start on the work. These were the beautiful trees that I saw from the steps of the trailer.
As I was looking through the pictures on my phone this morning I found this one. I took it last December when we were in Hawaii. I think it's one of the better pictures of the two of us. That we've taken in a long time.
And now it's time to start dinner. I'm going to try a new recipe out of an Amish cookbook that I just got on Amazon. It's a hamburger noodle bake. I'll have to let you know how it turns out.

Blessings,
Betsy

  2. Would you believe I've not read a single Karen Kingsbury book? Actually been a very long time since I've read any fiction. and I used to read tons of it... kinda interesting. That log cabin blanket looks like a lot of work! Have fun!!!

  4. Yea! I'm glad your celebrating with us, too, Betsy! Your log cabin quilt is already so pretty, and it will be fun to see how it grows through this winter. I agree with Meredith, you and Dennis look terrific! I hope you have a good week as you enjoy the fabulous Fall weather and prepare for winter. xx

  5. Your log cabin blanket is going to be beautiful. I've never knitted a blanket, only crocheted, but I've been thinking about giving a knitted one a go. I think crochet keeps me more interested though as it seems to grow so much faster than knitting does. The view from the trailer is beautiful, all those different colours which the trees are showing. I'm joining in with Jennifer's link party too, I'm sure it will motivate us all to keep on with our crafting.

  9. Hi Betsy.. that photo of you two is fabulous.. you're both adorable! I also joined up in the link party.. I love the log cabin design, it's going to be quite the family heirloom. I just finished several books recently. "Whistling Past the Graveyard" and "The Forgotten Garden" and the "House at Riverton". ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  10. I love your blanket. I've been thinking about making one like it for ages - either knit or crochet. I'm planning to join the winter project link up too but I'm not too sure how to do it! Hopefully I'll work it out and get linked up alright.

  11. Looking forward to seeing the blanket grow. I only have the patience for a crochet blanket I'm afraid so I am a teeny bit jealous! Jo x

  12. Your blanket is getting bigger and I like the colors. Not knitted a blanket for a few years and it was a baby blanket which made me do a yo which I really didn't know how to do. I do now since I asked someone to show me! Don't work too hard closing up your trailer for the winter. Take care!
