Home Again

We had a wonderful time on Saturday at a Pumpkin Patch in Damascas, OR. (Very close to Gracie's house if I have my dirctions right.). Piper was a bit afraid of the pumpkins, but we still had a good time.

Here we are arriving. We decided to include Mommy & Daddy in the picture too.
Well, maybe they're not so scary.
Mommy, Piper and Grandma.
A gorgeous view of Mt. Hood as we were leaving.
Then, all good things must end and we left yesterday to drive home to Spokane. The sky was so blue as we left Portland and I tried to get a good picture of Mt. St. Helens as we were driving down the interstate which can be a bit difficult.
Sorry about the blue car. Every time I took a picture,a car was going by in the opposite direction. Mt. St. Helens erupted 33 years ago, leaving the top of the mountain flat. It used to be more of a peaked mountain shape. When Brad flew us around the mountain last year we had to stay a safe distance from the crater as it still emits gases.

Then I looked in the opposite direction and  there was Mt. Hood from a different direction than the pumpkin patch yesterday.
The northwest is indeed beautiful isn't it?
Then we saw lots of these huge windmills along the Columbia Gorge, but oddly enough, none of them on the Oregon side were turning, although the ones on the Washington side were working away.

We arrived home sbout 8:30 last night and by 10:00 it was obvious that I had caught a bug somewhere. I've had a temp. of around 102F. all night and most of today. After a call to Mandy to check on them, so far they're all healthy.  Thank  goodness.

I have 18 of the 21 dishcloths done for the special order and then I'll be back to knitting away on the mittens.

Hope all is well with all of you my friends.
It IS good to be home. Sick and all.  I really miss my Piper and Mandy.  We'll see them for Thanksgiving next month. Not a day too soon.  Yippee!

Blessings,
Betsy

Friday, Friday!

Here I am in Portland. It's my next to the last day here. Hubby flew in yesterday,  (Friday), and we'll drive home together tomorrow after church.

Yesterday the sun was out nice and bright for the first time since I arrived so Miss Piper and I took a long walk and ended up at the park.  She loved the swing!

I took her to daycare at noon so I could have lunch with Gracie, Teresa and Taci. She only had to be there a couple of hours since Mommy picks her up at 2:30 every day.  It was still hard to leave her since she was reaching for Grandma as I walked away.

I arrived a little early for lunch so I checked out an antique store next door.  I have a love for all things vintage. Here are a few pictures of a couple id my favorite displays.
The sink is exactly like the one we had in our kitchen when I was a child.

Lunch was wonderful. We've met at Boccelli's in Gresham before and the food is delicious.  But the company was even better!  Oh how I enjoy my precious time with these three ladies.  Before we knew it we had talked for two hours!  So we moved our little party across the street to the yarn shop, "Little Lamb and Ewe".  We looked around, touched all of the yarn, talked some more and bought a little.  Then it was time for us to say good-bye until the next time.

My purchase!  I think it will be a Christmas gift.

I sure wish I lived closer to these ladies. Maybe some day, you never know what lies ahead do you?

Piper woke up this morning to find Grandpa had returned and she was very happy about that.  :-)

Now, I'm off to play with Piper. I think we're taking her to a harvest house for pumpkins today.

Blessings,
Betsy

Happy Birthday Piper!

Just popping in to say hi and show you a few pictures of Piper.

We've had a doozy of a storm. Actually three storms this weekend.  Rain, rain and more rain along with high winds here in Portland, OR.  We persevered and had a birthday party Saturday night and lots if people drove through the nastiness to see Piper and wish her a Happy 1st Birthday.  Brad & Mandy have some great friends who celebrated with us.

Grandpa flies home today and then will fly back on Friday after work.  I'll get to stay & play with Piper.

This is Piper's Uncle Bill who flew in from Nebraska to celebrate with her.

Have a wonderful week my friends!  I sure intend to.  :-)
Blessings,
Betsy
