Good morning my friends! We're having a great time with Mandy and Piper. Brad works all of the time and we rarely see him as he works all night and sleeps during the day for the two weeks we're here. We're missing him but still enjoying time with the girls.
This morning Papa and I took Piper to her story time at the library while Mommy got Christmas errands done without a curious 3 year old along. The librarian is a great storyteller. This is the fourth time I've gone with them on my visits and always enjoy it. Miss Michelle is a wonderful storyteller. That's Piper in the pink polka dot shirt behind the girl in green.
There was a Menorrah at the waterfront.
This is where free concerts are held every weekend in the summer.
We had so much fun! Look at those smiles.
There are shops everywhere in these several hundred year old buildings. I did some Christmas shopping here. :-)
Love to look at them. There are blocks and blocks of these buildings.
Christmas tree in the square.
Lovely buildings.
Christmas decorations abound!
The Maryland State capital in the photo below. It's the oldest state capital still in use and the only statehouse used as the nations capital. The Treaty of Paris was ratified here marking the end of the revolutionary war.
Most of the roads are VERY narrow like this in downtown Annapolis.
I hope you're having as great a December as we are. Back soon with more pictures!
"Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name." 1 Chronicles 29:13
Blessings,
Betsy
What a beautiful place to visit, stunning buildings and of course amazing company. She really does have a beautiful smile.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to see you getting out and about and seeing the historical sights! I remember that part of Annapolis.. we went to lunch at that one place you showed and then boarded a boat for a tour of the harbor. My aunt and cousins live there. Have fun and have a safe flight home! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are having a lovely time Betsy!!! of course you are you are with your grand-daughter ...such a pretty little thing :-)
ReplyDeleteI do love to see all these photos ! It is great to do a little bit of virtual sightseeing!!

Amanda xx
Such lovely pictures. Enjoy your time sweet friend. Blessings always. :)
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you're having a wonderful time there, Betsy. I'm glad you've been able to get out and about to do some sight-seeing, especially at Christmastime. I loved the photo of storytime at the library. That was a huge part of our lives when my children were younger. Even though it was recent for us, it brought back happy memories to see your photo. I hope the rest of your visit is just as good. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you are having a good time with Mandy and Piper. I used to live in the Annapolis area and spent a lot of time in this historic city. Such a fun place!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful capitol and city! The old brick buildings are so warm and appealing-looking. Have a wonderful visit. :)
ReplyDeleteThe brick street reminds me of ones I saw in the old part of Boston. I'm glad you are having a good visit in spite of Brad's crazy schedule. Louis had that kind of schedule many times during his years at IBM. I'm glad too that this trip you are not snowbound at their house! The rain storms keep rolling in here, but we are safe and grateful. May the Lord continue to bless you and yours :) xx
ReplyDeleteThanks for the catch all of photos of your visit. The old buildings are amazingly beautiful. A place with much history and I'm glad you're enjoying your time there! Have a good visit and hopefully you'll get to visit with your son-in-law a bit before you leave. Hugs and prayers! It's raining here in OR quite alot! Sigh! oh well, it could be much worse. God bless!
ReplyDeleteWhat a GREAT smile Miss Piper has--love it:) I would enjoy Annapolis because of the bay and all that lovely, lovely history!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Aimee

ReplyDeleteI am so glad you are having such a wonderful trip. I love those old buildings, something we don't have here. There is so much history there.
