Babysitting Piper

Be warned. If you don't care for baby pictures, you might want to skip this post. Today is my last day of babysitting Miss Piper. Hubby is flying in tonight and we'll stay here till Sunday after church.

Then it's off to the coast until Tuesday when we'll be back here overnight. I want to make sure to leave the house, laundry and all, clean for Mandy. So, we'll get up early Wednesday and get everything done after the kids leave for work and then drive home. I'm so ready to be home for awhile, but oh, how I'm going to miss my little Piper. Believe it or not, my son-in-law says he wishes I could stay. He makes me feel very comfortable and not like I'm intruding. Mandy says it's cause I cook for him and clean the house!!!

The first picture is of my daughter & Piper. Isn't it adorable? Piper adores her Mommy and misses her a lot during the day, I can tell. She sure wants Mommy when she gets home from work.

Then, there's Piper with her Daddy. This is her favorite way to have Daddy carry her. She likes to see what's happening.

Next is a baby hat I finished last night. I haven't knitted much this week. I've been way too busy playing with Piper.

Finally, Piper where she is at this very moment. The garbage truck came by at woke her up so Grandma decided to rock her back to sleep. It's such a hardship. :-). I adore this baby girl.

Completion!

I've finished a couple of projects while here in Portland. Please excuse the wrinkles etc. as I have no way of blocking/starching anything here. But, I'm excited to show everyone what I finished.

First is the Farmhouse shawl I started on our drive to Portland last Saturday. It's for me! Yep. I'm keeping this goodie. It was just supposed to have 1 row of crochet edging, but I added 10 because of my long arms. I wore it to church yesterday and it was cozy and warm on a very chilly morning. I made it specially to wear when knitting by the fire in the evenings.

Next are Teresa's Scandinavian hearts. We bought the thread when we went shopping together on Friday. I made all 12 out of 3 skeins of thread in about 3 hours last night. I'm looking forward to starching them them when I get home and finding a way to decorate for Valentine's day with them. I may try to make a few more as gifts. They are quite addicting! Thanks Teresa!

Friends & A Baby!

Happy Saturday friends! I'm still in Portland playing with Piper and her parents. But I slipped away yesterday for a fun afternoon with Gracie, Teresa and my new friend Taci. They are all bloggers who live here in the Portland area. Whenever I visit we try to get together. Unfortunately the picture I took of us all was with my 'real' camera and not my iphone so I have no way of showing you. I also need to try to learn how to embed links here so you can see their blogs too. They are all amazing women and have beautiful blogs. Mine is not nearly so interesting.

I did get a picture of the lovely gifts we exchanged. Gracie made a lovely snowflake based on Matt's blog. Taci crocheted me a beautiful bird of her own design. Teresa gave us all miniature skeins of glittery yarn. What fun!

Teresa gave us all tips on how to blog from our phones so it was s "working" lunch. :-). After lunch and lots if fun chatter, Taci headed to an appointment and Gracie, Teresa and I headed to the JoAnn's superstore. What fun we had there. Gracie captained the cart and we all proceeded to fill it full of goodies. I bought yarn, (big surprise there), supplies to make wreath pins and the thread to make some of Teresa's scandinavian hearts for Valentine's day.

I couldn't leave without a picture of Piper in her Christmas dress. Isn't she adorable?

The stockings I made for Brad and Mandy their first Christmas together. Piper's was obviously new this year. The yarn matched up very well don't you think?
