Do not feed them or encourage them in any way... They can cause tons of damage if allowed to enjoy being near to your home. Raccoons are not usually out in the daytime --but this Mama (or Mama's) are teaching the younger ones how to eat/fend for themselves... At nights is when we have had damage.... We finally learned to put all bird feeders up at nights, get the feeders (or excess bird food) off of the deck (or away from our home). Raccoons are SMART --and can get into things you cannot imagine. WELL---sorry I bring such bad news... SO--enjoy them while you can --but beware of doing more... They are NOT your friends....

Sorry about the big storm. Hope you get your services back soon....

I always enjoy your blog and especially your FB posts...
Hugs,
BetsyBetsy Banks Adamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16223591156634767330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8162150278449660664.post-81996167134143653102021-07-11T07:17:38.621-05:002021-07-11T07:17:38.621-05:00The racoons are fascinating animals-what fun to ha...The racoons are fascinating animals-what fun to have dinner and 'entertainment'!!!
The yarn projects are gorgeous--I love to see your mittens grow!Delighted Handshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01289187765260532813noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8162150278449660664.post-65074941751301395352021-07-10T19:25:32.835-05:002021-07-10T19:25:32.835-05:00Nice cross stitch hanging item you made Betsy!! So...Nice cross stitch hanging item you made Betsy!! So kind of you to make items for babies and veterans. Raccoons are fun to see. We've had a few in our side lawn. Megan and I were at a lavender farm this a.m. then I dropped her off at church after getting gas for my car. She drove her car and parked it in parking lot earlier. She went to a memorial service for a dear friend who died of brain cancer. That way we wouldn't need to drive home then she'd have to drive back up. It's warm outside. No rain yet. Have a good weekend and glad you were able to meet with old friends again. God bless. 💜 Becky. We don't find them cute, they are very destructive! Their little hands can open trash cans and strew trash everywhere. It can leave a big mess. One tried to open a window and enter my neighbors kitchen! She about had a heart attack. My husband has constructed an elaborate garbage can structure to thwart the raccoons. It has walls around it and a locked gate and has some kind of 2 x 4 thing across the top with a locking mechanism to weight the lids. It works pretty well; I have not figured out how to open it either.

The sampler is wonderful! Love all those raccoons outside the window...although in our last house, way out in the country, they caused quite a bit of damage, climbing up on the roof and trying to get into the attic. I wonder why the restaurant mixes cat litter in with the food? One of their cats was so furious it kept throwing itself at the closed window but the raccoon wasn't in the least afraid. In fact we think it must have been a juvenile because it was unafraid and very curious. My DIL came to see what the fuss was about and she tried to scare the raccoon away but Nope. It was going nowhere. Right here in the middle of town and there's wildlife. The raccoons at the restaurant look very well fed.
I hope you have a lovely time with your friends, catching up on each other's lives.Granny Marigoldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15858237999602347848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8162150278449660664.post-32593539872033573292021-07-09T17:24:17.574-05:002021-07-09T17:24:17.574-05:00Love the orchid and the mittens.
