Foggy

Oh my. Goodness it was foggy when we left for church this morning. It’s 2:00 and the sun is trying to peek through the clouds, but if it’s like yesterday, we won’t see the sun all day.  We are in an “inversion” where the air isn’t moving.  It happens often here in the winter since we sit in a valley between mountains on three sides of us.

I wrapped some gifts when we got home from church and Dennis worked in the garage for awhile until it got too cold.  Yesterday I put out a few things for Christmas.  Here is the table under the T.V.

Just a few favorite things.  The little poinsettia figures on the left I made in a ceramic class 39 years ago.  The snow people on the right were gifts our first Christmas, 40 years ago.

I made an extra pair of mittens for Piper last night but I already wrapped them without taking a picture.  I want to get their box mailed soon and beat the rush.  That’s about it.  I have another medical test, a Nuclear Medicine test tomorrow morning early.  I’ll let you know how that goes. Meanwhile, happy Sunday!

“Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.”  Galatians 1:10

Blessings,
Betsy

  2. Everyone is trading in fall for winter but it's just gotten pretty here so I am happy that I have another week before I make the switch. Even that surprise snow we got last week didn't get me in the spirit. I am really enjoying the beauty of all these golden leaves.

  3. I like your display and cute trailer too! I've not got anything out yet. Soon...too much going on this past week for me. Glad it's selected down. Interesting sermon today...Pastor Lyle (87 yrs old) died early thanksgiving morning. He was quite the man of God, sharing his faith with many people, church people and others...He'll be missed. But thankful to have had him in our lives. Pastor Jesse was spot on with what he said and thankful he had that sermon. Lyle and Vera had been married over 60 years and a nice family! Stay warm and take care. Praying for good results for tomorrow's test. Hugs and blessings!

  4. What sweet decorations! I thought they looked vintage and I remember how sweet the decorations were in our generation. I know I am old because I like all the things from my childhood too! LOL! We had fog this morning but then it left and we were supposed to have rain but that never happened. The weather reports are so inaccurate here...you can't depend on them at all. I think I'll go back to the Farmer's Almanac...lol! Good luck tomorrow!

  8. Just praying for your health amd back Betsy when saw your name in my inbox.. I really do pray for some answers for you to help you, if the Lord so will. I often think of Annie Johnson Flint (she was bed ridden with severe pain) and Fanny Crosby (who was blind) .. they both had severe impairments yet the Lord used them mightily to write such inspiring words in their hymns.
I rather think if they'd not had such hard paths their songs amd hymns would not have been as sweet.
    Like lavender ..

I often think of this with dried lavender.
Squeeze one tiny piece of sweet lavender between your finger and thumb and such a fragrance will flow out!!

    A picture of our lives.
We shine brightest in hard times as we cling to our Lord and Saviour.
    Sorry re fog.
I've lived in cold so do feel for you in it.
    Lord bless!
With prayer hugs, Shaz in Oz.x

  10. I have just begun some decorating. I just can't get motivated knowing that we will be celebrating alone for another year. Oh well, at least I know my kids are grown and independent, right?
