Happy Tuesday

Well, it's been a week.  The weather has gone from sandals, to snow and now cold and rain is predicted for the rest of the week.  I guess it's officially spring in the Pacific Northwest.

I have only two yarny things to show you this week so here goes....

I finished another square for my cozy memories blanket.
And I began a new pair of socks with Patons Kroy using the Hermione Sock Pattern that is free on Ravelry.

Both are projects that I can pick up and put down and don't take any thought.  Today is the first day with no jaw pain from my dental surgery.  However, I saw the oral surgeon yesterday and still no solid foods for another 2 weeks at least.  He is puzzled as to the slow healing but I'm at least happy the pain has let up.

Easter Sunday services at church were wonderful.  Celebrating the Risen Lord with close friends and our church family was wonderful.  My Easter lunch consisted off a chocolate frosty from Wendy's!

Yesterday for the first time ever, I saw a chiropractor for my back.  He is confident he can help and I sure hope so.  I had my first treatment this morning and, oh my goodness!  It was a surprise!  I'm pretty stiff right now,  but I sure hope that eases.  I go again tomorrow and Friday.  I've had this issue for over 10 years and it's just been getting worse, especially since my fall and inactivity last year.  It makes me nervous as I've never been to a chiropractor before, but I have to do something.  Dennis is very excited that maybe we will get our lives back and can go do things again.  My friends, please pray it works.  This is the last big thing that has been holding me down.

I'll be a new woman if he can fix this!!! There will be no keeping me here.  I'll be in Omaha!  I'll be in Japan!  Who knows where else?

Look what else my sweet husband did for me this week?

He bought me a new car!  It's a 2018 Honda CRV.  My old one was a 2010 CRV.  It took some talking by him to get me to buy a new one.  I loved my old car.  But this one has bluetooth and a backup camera and a power liftgate which will all be very nice if I ever figure out how to use them.  It had 4.6 miles on it when I brought it home!  It now has 102.  It has NO key!  I think that's the hardest thing to get used to.  I keep trying to turn it off with a key.  That doesn't work.  :-)  I have the BEST husband in the world who spoils me rotten.

We've also decided to try to sell our little trailer.  We haven't used it once.  Buying the car had nothing to do with the decision to sell the trailer.  We had been talking about it for several months.  It doesn't make sense to let such a beautiful little trailer sit unused when it could be giving someone so much joy, so we decided to put it up for sale.  It's on Craigslist and Facebook but so far no takers.  Possibly because our weather is so yucky right now.

And look at this cute little Easter bunny! Isn"t she just the sweetest little bunny?
I hope  accomplish more this week.  It feels more like winter than spring around here.  I feel like I haven't been accomplishing much lately.  How about you?  Is it spring where you are?  Are you getting lots of crafting done?

See you all soon.

"If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."  Romans 10:9

Blessings,
Betsy

  5. I sure do hope the chiropractor can fix your back pain issues. I've gone before and it's helped and now my back is pretty much pain free. Piper is adorable.. she's growing up! Good luck on selling the little trailer, I know you had such high hopes for having some fun travels in it. We missed out on reserving our spot for our trailer for my birthday so instead to Victoria BC! Get better! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  6. Brilliant that you’re healing albeit slowly Betsy and pray you’ll soon be right as rain with the help from the chiropractor too, I must confess I’d be nervous too, but kniw many folks say they’re excellent.
Does he do scans and evaluating first? as with your osteoporosis you need to be careful that he knows what he’s doing..
Praying dear sis... lovely new car and sweet little Miss Piper, she’s such a treasure.
Thanks for sharing and for being an encouragement, too!

  8. It's chilly here as well and raining. Megan went to tulip farm Tues in the cloudy weather but still pretty. Hopefully I can go later like on Fri. Boots for sure. Nice car! My sis drove their crv to Seattle when I was up there. I liked it. Hope your health continues to get better. It's always something, huh? I'm dealing with yucky allergies or cold. 2nd a.m. to be on recliner so I can breath better.Sigh! Take care and will talk to you soon! Hugs and blessings.

  10. It sounds like you had a nice Easter, Betsy. I'm glad. Congrats on your new car! How exciting. My car is a 2006 and it needed an expensive repair last week. One more of those, and I think I'll be shopping for a new one. I can't wait. A 2006 car might as well be from the dark ages! I hope the chiropractor helps you find the healing you need. Take care.

  12. Love your new car - happy driving to you! Enjoy. Hoping your back pain is relieved by your visits to the chiropractor. And, glad to hear your jaw pain is finally subsiding. The trailer you are selling is, I assume the one that you bought last year to travel around? Not the one at the lake?

  14. Hi Betsy, I have never been to a chiropractor. Talked about it but my husband seems a little leery. I sure hope he helps you. I am sorry you sold your little trailer but your new car is very nice. Things do seem to change it seems. Good to hear you don't have pain over your tooth. Stay warm. Seems we are having yucky weather again. Nancy

  15. Your new car sounds super! I just had major work done on the van and am so grateful it is in good shape now. I started a new preemie blanket at our group this morning and picked a mindless pattern...one row single crochet, next row double crochet, repeat. Praying for your healing! Love to you and yours xxxxxxxx :-)

  16. Oh, sweet friend! I am SO sorry you are still suffering and unable to eat. My goodness, this was just an awful ordeal for you. I am praying for your faithfully and trusting this will soon be behind you. And, the chiropractor...well, all I can say is I couldn't even believe how much it helped my dear husband. I believe this is a wonderful move for you, and it may hurt worse before it feels better, but, the long-term effects should be amazing. I trust this will be a brand-new beginning for you and that you and Dennis can get back to the living you want to do! Then, the sky's the limit, right? LOL! I LOVE your new car!! Bless your husband's heart...he is so kind. You deserve the spoiling, that's for sure. :) Much love to you today!

  17. I've driven my neighbor's car and it has no key, and it is so strange! I know you will love having this comfortable car that has bluetooth in it as well, so you can talk and drive without worries. Sure hope that the chiropractor is really helping you! Blessings and hugs :)
