Sickness

Hello friends,

Dennis is home sick.  He came home Tuesday at noon with a horrible headache, nausea and stuffed up head.  I called the doctor to see if he could be tested for flu so we could start Tamiflu if positive but was told no fever/no flu.  He worked yesterday but he got up this morning and showered, dressed for work and then and went right back to bed because he's so lightheaded.  Still no fever.  I sure wish they would have just tested for flu so we could put that fear to rest.  Please pray for him.  He NEVER.  And I mean NEVER misses work.  39 years married and I can count on one hand how many times he's stayed home from work because of sickness.

Also, please pray that I don't get it.  One of us needs to stay healthy for grocery runs, etc.

So this post will be short and sweet.

Two finished items.  A blanket for the Crisis nursery.  This was made from the ends of the skeins that I use to make mittens. The border was put on last night but it hasn't been washed yet so it's still a bit stiff and wavy.
I also finished Alex's socks last night.  They are going in the mail to him this morning.  Knit with Knit Picks Felici yarn.  And look!  Perfect matches.  I love when that happens.
Miss Piper fell asleep in the car after they dropped us at the airport on Saturday.  Mandy sent me this.
Oh to be able to sleep like a five year old. :-)

And this one of her this week wearing a sweater I made her.  She is a very knit-worthy person as she loves everything I make for her.  And I love her. :-)
Okay ladies.  I have to go.  It's weigh in day at Weight Watchers. I won't stay for the meeting, but I missed last week while we were gone and who knows what next week will bring, so I better check in. Then to the post office to mail Alex's socks and back home to take care of a sick Hubby.

Please keep us and everyone else with these horrible illnesses to be better.

"I can do all this through Him who gives me strength." Philippians 4:13

Blessings,
Betsy

  1. Prayers for Dennis headed your way. A lot of people sick in my area, too. I've managed to stay out of the path of the flu and hope to keep it that way.

Whoa, you really wore Miss Piper out! Love the sweater and the smile.

  2. I'm home today from work too. Not feeling energy and a bit plugged in head. Took me a longer time to even wake up. Need to get more rest today. Too much crud colds and flu going around. I don't want to be anywhere at all today but in my house. Awe sweet Piper sleeping. And love the sweater. Prayers for Dennis to feel better too!

  3. Poor Dennis. It sounds like what felled The Mister and me at New Years. It was no fun with both of us down and out at the same time. Love the socks, love the blanket and as for Miss Piper....what a sweetie pie!

  4. I can understand how scared you must be with Dennis falling ill that way.. I swear I always catch something awful in airports and airplanes. We are subjected to bacteria from places of which we have no immunity built up. Take good care of him and I hope he bounces back fast. I hope your weigh-in is a positive one. I think that's why I won't do WW is that dreaded public weighing. Yuck! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  9. Good Morning, I am praying for Dennis and praying that YOU don't get the 'crud'..... My son (Texas) had the flu recently and did take Tamiflu... He is better now --but has a dry cough which is staying with him!!!!!

That last picture of Piper is AWESOME... She is such a cutie pie --and I love that bright pink color on her...

    Hugs,

  12. I am praying that you are both well! Although I have read your posts since the end of November in snatches of time here and there, I was not able to thoroughly read them until this morning while Carolyn is still sleeping and all is quiet around me :) You are such an encouragement to me, Betsy. I am thankful for your relationship with the Lord, and how you matter of factly share who He is. Your productivity in Him amazes me. You and yours are regularly in my thoughts with love even though I have failed to tell you so often enough. Before I left to come to CA I arranged an advent wreath on the fabulous doily you crocheted for me...hating to cover it up and yet feeling that it was a fitting foundation for the celebration of our Savior's birth. Carolyn is in the 4th day of her second round of chemo and is having no difficult side-effects. I so look forward to the next time the Lord allows us to be together 💜🤗💜

  15. Dear friend! I am praying for Dennis. I truly trust he is much better today, and may God keep you well, in Jesus' name!! Oh, the blanket is so pretty, and little Miss Piper's sweater and Alex's socks are just amazing. I know you miss that sweet, little one, and seeing the pictures probably makes you long to see her even more. God bless you and your precious family and keep all of you safe and well and heal Dennis speedily! Praying for Mike, too, and believing God for miracles!!! Sending love and hugs your way...wish I could pop in with a casserole and cake for you!

  16. Hi Betsy, I am so sorry to hear that Dennis is sick. I pray you don't get it. I came down with a cold, no fever but a bad cough. No nausea, thank goodness. Hubby came down with the same thing a few days later. Seems like it takes forever to get over. It is so great that Piper likes everything you knit for her. She is a sweetheart. Hugs, Nancy

Thank you for dropping by my little blog in the UK earlier, it’s lovely to meet you and see what you’ve been making.
Hope your hubby gets well soon. My husband of 38 years had the Aussie flu that has hit the UK but he’s back on track now thankfully
