Another weekend is coming....

Hello my friends.  It's late Thursday evening and I thought I would do a quick post because Dennis is off work tomorrow and we're going to the lake as soon as we wake up.  I don't usually post when I'm there because of the Internet limits.  I came home Tuesday morning because it was only in the lower 50's and raining.  I had lots I could do at home including washing the summer bedding from the trailer.  I put the fleece sheets and down comforter on the bed out there for fall.  I think we're going to need it this weekend. :-)

This is what I worked on last weekend.  The back of a pullover crew neck sweater for Dennis.
The front has been started too.  It does get boring though.  What seems like miles and miles of plain knitting.
So...I took a break and made three dishcloths.  There is a another round one that I finished that I didn't photograph.
And this one was just begun.  I will start back on the sweater tomorrow.  I promise. If it stays so cool he'll need it soon.
My sister sent me this picture yesterday.  It was all of the Brownies, Girl Scouts, Senior Scouts and Cadette Scouts in the small town I grew up in. Do you see me?  I'm the little blonde brownie in the third row from the front, on the right end. I'm peeking over the shoulder of a girl with a sash and beret.  Isn't it fun?  I had forgotten all about this day until I saw the picture.  My sister is on the left toward the back.
Today was crazy hair day and crazy clothes at preschool for Miss Piper.  She had to face-time me and show me her craziness!  Goodness I love this little girl.
It's past my bedtime so I'm going to close now but didn't want to leave for the weekend without sharing with all of you first and saying hello.  I truly feel you have become my friends.

Someone asked where the lake is that we have our trailer at.  It's 26 miles from our house, in the mountains of northeast Washington, north of Spokane.  The lake itself is Loon Lake and our trailer is at Granite Point Resort.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend full of the joys of late summer.

"You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand." Psalm 16:11

Blessings,
Betsy

  1. Man sweater knitting is serious business! That's a lot done in a short period of time. I am very impressed! Your little cutie is adorable in her crazy hair and clothes. How well I remember those days.
That round dishcloth is addicting. I just finished another one myself. They go quick.

  2. Hi, I looked you up on my new Road Atlas... Found Spokane... Didn't realize you were in the east side of Washington... I guess I had assumed since you had the lake house --that it was closer to all of the water on the west side of the state....

Love the Brownie picture.. Of course, I picked you out!!!!!!! ha ha

I too love colors --so I can understand why you enjoy working on pieces with different colors...Beautiful.

Have a great weekend. Hope you are feeling good these days.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  3. Great knitting projects - I switch projects and needles sizes to keep my hands from cramping.

Have you ever tried knitting your husband's sweater in the round until you get to the bottom of the armhole shaping? Can you tell I detest seaming?

Hope your time at the lake is relaxing and warm.

  7. Good job on that sweater, what a big accomplishment! Would he like one with a design on it? That might be more fun for you to knit.. like a fair isle design for winter? I'm knitting a dishcloth too.. with the soft unbleached cotton from KnitPicks. I'm off to swim.. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  8. Nice work on the sweater and dish cloths. It's so easy to get distracted on sweaters with all those rows of stockinette! Have a great weekend at the lake. Do you see many loons?

  14. Have a wonderful time at the lake Betsy!! I hope the weather is great. You are a good knitter! I have a hard time when i make a mistake and have to rip it out and pick up the stitches. Is there a secret! Think maybe I should learn to crochet! I have done a few basic stitches but would need a review and how to read a pattern. Do you crochet too? Nancy

  17. You must knit really fast. Do you knit English(throwing) or Continental? Miss Piper did not look crazy to me...I though she looked cute in her outfit. Love your washcloths and I can see that Piper resembles you...what a cutie you were when you were a girl scout!
