Home Again

We had a wonderful time on Saturday at a Pumpkin Patch in Damascas, OR. (Very close to Gracie's house if I have my dirctions right.). Piper was a bit afraid of the pumpkins, but we still had a good time.

Here we are arriving. We decided to include Mommy & Daddy in the picture too.
Well, maybe they're not so scary.
Mommy, Piper and Grandma.
A gorgeous view of Mt. Hood as we were leaving.
Then, all good things must end and we left yesterday to drive home to Spokane. The sky was so blue as we left Portland and I tried to get a good picture of Mt. St. Helens as we were driving down the interstate which can be a bit difficult.
Sorry about the blue car. Every time I took a picture,a car was going by in the opposite direction. Mt. St. Helens erupted 33 years ago, leaving the top of the mountain flat. It used to be more of a peaked mountain shape. When Brad flew us around the mountain last year we had to stay a safe distance from the crater as it still emits gases.

Then I looked in the opposite direction and  there was Mt. Hood from a different direction than the pumpkin patch yesterday.
The northwest is indeed beautiful isn't it?
Then we saw lots of these huge windmills along the Columbia Gorge, but oddly enough, none of them on the Oregon side were turning, although the ones on the Washington side were working away.

We arrived home sbout 8:30 last night and by 10:00 it was obvious that I had caught a bug somewhere. I've had a temp. of around 102F. all night and most of today. After a call to Mandy to check on them, so far they're all healthy.  Thank  goodness.

I have 18 of the 21 dishcloths done for the special order and then I'll be back to knitting away on the mittens.

Hope all is well with all of you my friends.
It IS good to be home. Sick and all.  I really miss my Piper and Mandy.  We'll see them for Thanksgiving next month. Not a day too soon.  Yippee!

Blessings,
Betsy

  1. Hi Betsy, I'm a new follower of your blog and I'm enjoying your posts. I found your blog through Gracie and Teresa's blogs and have seen that you are all good friends. This trip to the pumpkin patch looks like such a nice time with your family. I'm fascinated by the mountains where you live and always enjoy reading about them. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. :)

  5. Yes, Liepold's is near us, Betsy, although I will have to look up the directions for how to get there as my memory is foggy at the moment.

So glad we/you had a good visit and that you made it home safe and sound, and are making good progress on your stitching projects.

I'm praying you will be well soon!
    Love with hugs,
