At the lake!

Hubby and I de-winterized the trailer this past Saturday. It's pretty much an all day endeavor. We headed home about 5:00 and gave serious thought to getting some food and clothes and going back for the night. Reason prevailed however in the fact that we are dog-sitting our neighbors pooches until Tuesday and we wanted to be at church early Sunday so we stayed home.

However, we returned to the lake after church and we grilled pork chops for lunch. It was great, along with a couple of deli salads. Dennis went home about 7:00 last night and left Chloe and I. He was going to bed after some reading and taking care of the dogs. Tonight he has a meeting so won't be home until late and agreed there was no reason we shouldn't stay at the lake. There are two other couples here too. They have been staying since last Tuesday! It did get cold last night. Down to about 40 or so but the furnace worked great. Today is supposed to be almost 70.

Here are a few photos I took this weekend for you. There is still some dirty snow piled in shady spots around the campground. Meanwhile we had water skiers on the lake yesterday for the first time this season! Hardy souls!

Our comfy bed with lots of pillows for reading in bed. :-) Flannel sheets too. So cozy. My knitting. And the view out my window this morning. Chloe is a happy camper! :-)

I'll be going home tomorrow but the plan is to return Friday night. Yeah! Spring has sprung finally.

I hope you all had a wonderful Resurrection Sunday, remembering that Christ is Risen and is alive today.

Blessings,
Betsy

  1. Oh boy! I'm a happy camper with Cloe :) I enjoyed this visit to the lake with you and look forward to sharing your lake living season with you!
We had a miraculous Easter weekend with temps in the 70s, no clouds, and more and more beautiful blossoms evident...around Portland, Oregon...no joke!

  2. Oh it looks lovely! I do so love a lake! Where is this? What lake? Do you keep you trailer there full time? We spend a good deal of time up at Big Bear Lake. We keep our boat in the water from April to October and go every chance we get. We also love Bass Lake. I grew up going there ever summer, and we still do. Near Yosemite. In fact, your photo resembled it a bit.

  3. Gracie: thank you! Chloe & I are having a grand time tiday. :-)

Kris: this is Loon Lake in Washington State about 60 miles from the Canadian border and only 27 miles from our house. Our good friends from church keep their boat here in the summer & camp next door to us so we're on the lake a lot during the summer. Yes, we can leave the trailer here all year if we want, (which we do, no storage costs that way). We actually hiked in several times this winter when the snow was too deep to drive. With no running water in the winter we don't stay very long. ( I need a restroom once in awhile ). :-). I'd love you to visit sometime!

... and yes praise God Christ is risen today and every day He has won the victory for us.. what a Saviour and friend..

tell me to change the subject totally from post below ..what are burial buntings?? never hear of them, and sound sad but look lovely, Shaz in oz.x

  7. Hi Shaz: they use the burial buntings at the hospital for stillborn babies and babies that pass soon after birth. It seems to ease parents minds a bit to see the baby in something other than a plain hospital blanket and most often they are too small for baby clothes, even the preemie size.

    Betsy

  8. How relaxing to have a special place to retreat to. We have looked for a couple of years for a place like this. Have not found it yet.
Isn't it wonderful that we can worship a risen Savior? Sad for others who do not know the truth.

  11. It sounds lovely ! Enjoy! We are already up into the 90's during the day here so a/c is running all the time. And today is hazy with dust. I do miss living an outdoor lifestyle. Chloe is such a sweetie! Best wishes, Tammy

  12. That looks like such a wonderful escape! I got a lovely little package in the mail! The beautiful doily has a place of honor on my grandmother's desk and the adorable stitch markers went right in my knitting bag - they are so stinking cute! When things settle down a bit, I'll get a picture of the doily up. Thanks so much!!
