Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope you all have lovely plans today. It's cloudy and foggy today. The perfect kind of day to snuggle with your sweetie-if he wasn't at work-and if I still wasn't sick.

Yes, the sad and boring recurring theme of this blog lately has been sickness. Ugh! I did go to the doctor on Monday and my white blood count was sky high, which indicates infection somewhere. They don't know where though, and since a fever and exhaustion are my only symptoms, they told me to go home and rest. If I'm still having a fever next Monday I'm supposed to let them know. Blah, blah, blah. The receptionist told me about a supplement that she takes and she hasn't been sick in three years. I ordered some off Amazon but since it won't arrive for two weeks, I ventured out to the health food store and bought a bottle. It cost three times as much as Amazon! I'm trying so hard to get better.

We had plans to go to Montana for the weekend to take Caleb his birthday presents. We missed his birthday because we both had the flu. Needless to say we're not going. I'm supposed to go to Portland the middle of March to watch Piper for a week. Please pray I'm completely better by then.

But there is good news! Yesterday my fingers finally stopped hurting enough to crochet. And this is what I began. I'm making another granny scrap afghan. I'm enjoying the easy, no pattern following ease of it. I just reach into the basket and whatever color I pull out is what I use!

We did decide to get the wood stove. Thank you for the advice and emails. I investigated all of venting concerns, etc. with the installer and everything seems to be working out.

Installation is scheduled for next Wednesday. Pictures will be forthcoming!

Have a lovely day everyone. Thank you SO much for the kind words and advice you've all given me. I still find it mind boggling that I have friends who care about me virtually all over the world.

Blessings,
Betsy

  4. Goodness sakes.. I wonder what is wrong? Seems like the doctor could have looked harder? I hope the supplements help. Did you get a flu shot? We get them every year and I've avoided getting severely ill ever since I started them. Get well! Love the random granny!! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  5. Thanks everyone!
Kris-I hope you're better soon too.
Teresa-yes, We get our flu shot every year but apparently the reason the flu is so bad this year is that the strain that's going around isn't covered in the shot. I really hope you continue to avoid it.

  6. I love those grannies! The colors are so great. I never feel like I am very good at combining color. That yarn sure looks nice and thick, too. Sorry to hear you are still stick. I'm sending healing hugs and wishes your way. Tammy

  7. Grannies are very nice. Love the colors.
Have been feeling kind of punky today too. My atlas seems to not want to stay on it's axis. Have had my DH adjust me two times this morning. He cannot keep adjusting it though. I went to a meeting at church and wound up leaving because I did not feel good and came home and collapsed on the couch for about three hours. We are thinking I may be having a flu relapse too. Now I really need to get up and brush myself off and try to be somewhat productive this afternoon. Will see how successful I am with that one.
    GET BETTER ya Hear!!! ;)

  9. Tammy- the yarn is loops & Threads Impecable. I get it at Michael's during their 2/$5 sales. I try to never pay full price for it. It's worsted weight and nice and soft. I use it for lots of hats for Blessings Under the Bridge because it washes so well.
Carol-it's nice to be feeling a little productive again.
Evy-Don't try to do too much. I think that was my problem. I jumped right back into life and relapsed. I'm sure hoping hubby doesn't do the same. Just relax with a good book or needlework. All else will wait. At least that's what I'm finding.
    Blessings,
    Betsy
